Getting Stood Up Via Text Message
There is a new trend happening that is becoming an epidemic. That is changing plans on the fly with text messaging. In today's society, and it's lack of face to face conversation and focus on online dating, it has become easy to change plans on the fly. In some strange way it seems okay to text someone a few hours before a date and tell them something came up. Now yes things do come up and that is always possible. However in my experience it seems like most of the time when that happens the plans never get remade. So instead the person stood up thinks there is still a chance at a date and often this cycle continues until the idea of a date with this person is finally dropped. No I guess it is better than someone sitting waiting for someone that never shows up but is it really? Does this false hope make it easier to accept getting stood up or does it just prolong the disappointment?
