Create something different. Take a little from here and a little from there. Blend it together and see what begins to develop. You can always add a little more of this or that...you have the power to create what you want. You choose whether or not to mix in the old or the new. You make the choice what you add to the mix. You (along with your partner) create the blended spirit.
What are you going to choose to bring into your relationship? What are you going to choose to leave along the edges? What will you choose to leave behind completely? Together through conscious choice you can create a relationship that is a beautiful masterpiece.
