Looking for Couples to Interview

We have a new project in the works.  We are writing a book for entrepreneurial couples, Inspiring Couples in Business + in Love.  This book will give readers insight into how to succeed as entrepreneurs while maintaining a loving, healthy + sexy relationship.  We will share how learning and implementing transcendent lovemaking + couples' dreamwork + awareness of your archetypes (including your sacred inner money personality) will help you succeed in business and your relationship with little to no more fighting over money or your sex life.

But, really it is so much more than just the simple idea of no more fighting over these things.  In fact, couples, who are entrepreneurs, especially those who own a business together, understand that there are often great challenges by being in love and running a business.

Can a couple really switch gears and be just a romantic couple without constantly talking business?  You bet, but just as the romantic relationship takes work so does the business relationship.  When you try and blend the two together the challenges are multiplied.  But, guess what?  So, are the joys and successes if you have the tools in place.

We have been in business together for 10+ years, as well as owning individual businesses, and we know the ups and the downs, the joys and the sorrows, the high fives and the arguments, and we have learned, developed, and created amazing unique spiritual tools to thrive as a couple + as business partners.

We don't want other entrepreneurial couples to simply survive the journey.  We want them to thrive!
We want YOU to thrive!

At this point, we are still open to including other couples in the book.  We have interviews already occurring, but if you are or if you know of an entrepreneurial couple, who might be willing to be interviewed and included in the book, drop an email to janellealexphd@gmail.com

Here's to thriving,
Janelle + Rob

Domestic Violence Is Disturbing

Domestic violence is a disturbing and sadding topic.  Most people don’t know why it happens or how to approach it.  One wonders why someone could treat another in such a horrific way or even why someone would stay with a partner that treats them that way.
The 5 star rated book Understanding Domestic Violence and Abuse by Kelina Cowell, explains in detail the statistics, causes and effects of domestic abuse and the impact that it has on it's victims.
The sad fact is that anyone can become a victim of domestic abuse.  Each of us has been touched by it in some way, whether we know of someone or have been a victim ourselves.  It comes in many different forms.  Psychological, physical, sexual, financial, emotional, and these are only naming a few. The aim is to gain power and control and the impact is devastating.
As listed within these powerful pages some victims will experience poor general health, mental heath issues, feelings of worthlessness, helplessness, self-loathing or apathy.  This makes the road to freedom extremely challenging and to many seem impossible.
The statistics are breathtaking.  1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men will experience domestic violence in their lifetime.  Now think about how many of those victims don’t report the abuse and live in fear and pain for years. How many children are witnesses to this?  It’s heartbreaking.
Understanding Domestic Violence and Abuse is eye opening.  It is full of facts, history, and helps the reader understand the reasoning and how to break the cycle.
If you know someone who is in an abusive relationship this book will give you the knowledge to help them break free.

Natural Childbirth There are Different Approaches

Different Approaches to Natural Childbirth

The definition of natural childbirth is simply delivering your child without the use of drugs and/or surgical procedures. You can have a natural childbirth at the hospital or at home, and there are a number of different approaches to natural childbirth that are available to people who choose this method. Of course, you should be aware of the risks that come with any method of birthing, and have access to a trained physician if you choose this method, in case anything goes wrong. A lot of women choose the natural childbirth method and are very happy to endure the pain without painkillers, choosing alternative methods to deal with the birthing process.
Most of the methods can be described as combining relaxation techniques, breathing, mindfulness, and easing pain naturally. While each approach differs slightly, they all aim to ease the pain that comes with a drug-free birth. Some of the approaches that seem to be present in most techniques are:
Relaxation:
Most methods will have a relaxation component that may include massage or finding different positions that ease the pain on back muscles or the belly muscles to ease the pain that develops there. Alternatives to laying on your back for delivery could include standing or squatting with support, allowing gravity to help with the birth, or giving birth in a bathtub or shower to alleviate the discomfort with the buoyancy of water.
Breathing:
Breathing can also help alleviate the stress and pain with childbirth, by focusing the mind and having the woman concentrate on the breathing rather than the pain. This can help with focusing her energy on contractions, effectively "breathing through" them and not holding her breath or hyperventilating, both of which are not good for her stress levels.
Mindfulness:
There are many ways to focus the mind to take away the pain that is associated with childbirth. Some women will try hypnosis to focus their minds away from the pain, and onto the joys of having a baby. Others will find a talisman or a special amulet to hold on to when they are in contractions, to focus on and concentrate their energy into, in order to take their minds away from the pain. By concentrating on an object, they are able to be mindful of the moment, and minimize focusing on the pain.
With the many techniques available to women for natural childbirth, focusing on those approaches that work for you will ensure a smoother delivery.

The Book,
Is an excellent starting point for those considering a more natural child birth.

Looking For A Great Place to Eat?

Hey everybody.  I wanted to share a cool website I found with you.  You know how much of a foodie I am, so while I was looking around on the Net, I found an interesting website that lets you post video reviews!  I’ve never seen anything out there like it, and I’ve shuffled through a lot of food-focused websites.  I loved the idea, because it lets you actually see people talking about the food.  That makes a huge difference.  I mean, we’ve gotten used to written reviews and they’re fine, but a video review really lets you get the whole experience.  You’ll see real people talk about food that moved them in some way – good or bad.  I know sometimes I make faces that are hard to really translate into words.  With this video option, people can make those faces and the message isn’t lost.  Their tone, their facial expressions, and their body language all come together to let you really know how they felt about the food.  Cool, right?

The website is AmericanEateries.com.  You can search for reviews on this website, but they also do lots of other neat things too. You can chat with other people who use the site and discuss a particular restaurant in more depth.  You can also post coupons for people to use and share recipes.  They give you a private mailbox on the site so that you can have a one-on-one conversation with someone you meet.  When you sign up for a free account on the site, you can post a picture too, so your whole foodie search can turn into something else entirely.  Think about it – a cute guy writing about the same type of food that you like - it’s the perfect icebreaker!

AmericanEateries.com also advertises daily specials and they give a way a $50 gift card every single week if you write a review that really shines.  It can be funny, from a different point of view, creative – whatever.  They’ll give you $50 if it stands out from the rest of the reviews they get that week.

Check out what they have to offer.  It’s definitely worth a visit!
