This Family Is Helping Turn Us Around

Relationship are what I am an expert in.  I love helping couples turn their relationships into a vision of beauty, romance and passion.  The journey to that blissful relationship is not one that is usually all fun and games.  There are many things that can derail this desire.  Finances are one area that can make or break a relationship.  Lucky for us we found a family that put everything into perspective for us.  The Unstoppable Family helped us see that our financial independence is something we need to take our relationship and life to the next level.  Watch the video below and see if you connect with any parts of it.  If so then click the link below to join us in this travel we have set forth upon and become part of our tribe.

3 Tips on How to Make More Money Today!

Does money grown on trees?
Well, what if it did?  Would you plant some in your back yard?  Would you nurture them, pay attention to them with the intention of creating a bountiful harvest?  You might immediately say, "Hell, yes I would!"  But, then you might back track and end up believing that your tree wouldn't grow or that you wouldn't know what to do with it or that someone would steal from it or that you simply don't have a "green thumb".
Okay - great!  At least you would be admitting to your beliefs even though they might be negative.  But, there are options.  You could make sure you add proper plant food (or tree food LOL).  You could secure your back yard and get a guard dog.  You could study how to best grow your tree, take a workshop, get a "tree growing mentor".  You could also take measures to change your beliefs around not being good enough to do it.

Discover your Sacred Money Archetypes® (personalities).
Why?  Because when you do you will reveal your inner truth around.  You will discover what your real relationship with money is and is not.  And, you will be tapping into those other "options" just like we suggested when thinking of money growing on trees.
There are 8 Sacred Money Archetypes: Nurturer, Romantic, Maverick, Ruler, Accumulator, Celebrity, Connector, + Alchemist.  They include everything from your inner caregiver to your inner big shot.  When you discover what yours are you can uncover the most profitable actions you can take to increase your income and secure your financial freedom and future!  Woo Hoo!

Here are 3 Tips To Get You Started Today!
  1. Clear Money Clutter:  One tip for clearing up some of your money clutter is to take a look at who might owe you money.  Is there a refund you are expecting?  Do you have clients or customers who owe you? If you work for someone else, is there a bonus or commission you haven't received for some reason yet?  Did you lend a few bucks to your kids or friends?  Do you have a rebate coupon lying on your desk you need to fill out and send in?  Have you been expecting a tax refund - what is holding it up?  Is there something you can do to speed it up?  Do you have money "lost" or left behind in an old savings account, paypal account, etc.?  Did someone barter with you for your services or work and you haven't taken them up on it yet?  Take a few minutes and brainstorm this.  Then collect the money (time, service, etc.) that is rightfully yours.
  2. Create a Money Tracking Sheet:  Track every single penny you bring into your household each and every day.  This is really simply just print out a calendar each month and write in the total amount you brought in that day.  We have a really cool looking one that we share in our Sacred Money Archetypes® Kick-Start VIP Day.  You keep track on this sheet only of money coming in.  This includes EVERYTHING - your income, your partner's, your tax refund, any + all of the money you collected from the first tip above, finding a penny under the table in a restaurant, birthday money, and more.  The reason you do this is because when you pay attention to something that particular thing will begin to grow and want more positive attention.
  3.  Discover Your Money Speedometer:  We all have what are called "set points".  A perfect example is your body temperature.  Take a moment to think about what happens when you get overheated.  You start ditching clothes, turn on a fan or the air conditioning, get a cool drink and your body, if necessary, will begin to perspire to help cool you and return the body's temperature to around 98.6 degrees F.  If you are too cold, you add clothes, turn up the heat, get up and move around, drink something warm and your body, if needed, begins to shiver and increase the blood flow to your vital organs with less blood going to your extremities.
  • Your Money Speedometer is your financial set point.  This is the point that you consistently stay at and seem to be the most comfortable - yes, even if that "comfortable" financial place seems like you never have enough money.  It is because you have - most likely unintentionally - trained yourself to stay at that financial level.  So, when you start making more money (you get too hot) and you start to get rid of clothes (or financial opportunities) and you start sweating it.  If you fall short with money (you get too cold), you add more clothes (find more clients, take a second job, sell your stuff), and you begin to tremble (with cold and with fear).
  • Look at the past 12 months and write down how much you made each month.  Pick out the five highest months.  Add them up.  Divide them by 5.  This average is your financial set point or your Money Speedometer.
  • But, you don't have to stay there!  You can learn how to raise your financial set point so that your Money Speedometer is ready for a new Speed Limit/Speed Minimum sign!

Your Sacred Inner Money Story - What's Yours?

What if you could reveal your
Sacred Inner Money Story?

Isn't it time you stopped struggling over money with your sweetie?

You deserve to make empowered decisions when it comes to your financial life.

Whether you are well off or whether you don't feel you have enough money, you are born with particular lessons to seek out +  explore.  One of those overarching lessons is based on money.

Ultimately, it impacts nearly every area of your life.

Maybe you are a Nurturer or a Ruler or a Romantic or even a Maverick!

Do you want to find out?
Drop your name + email in now and get access to your quiz!

Not sure if you want to take a quiz about how you relate to money?

What if I told you that Spirituality + Money Go Together?!

The term spirituality is often not "allowed" to be spoken in relation to a few other terms such as "money" or "sex".  Well, guess what?  When you become aware that your spirituality and your money are actually related to one another you will discover a powerful peace that may blow you away.  In fact, your money is also related to your sexual energy - no surprise there as they are both connected to your sacral chakra, but that is for another post another day.

Just think - no more freaking out over money, no more wondering where in the heck it went or how you are supposed to bring more to you.  When you discover your sacred money archetypes you will be empowered with new confidence, a relaxed sense of peace, and a beautiful sense of freedom.

Wait - what is an archetype?  An archetype is a representation or a symbolic model that is embedded in  your unconscious.  For example, think of the word mother.  Typically, the things that come to mind of what a mother should/would be is loving, nurturing, compassionate, supportive, strong, etc.  Does that fit all mothers?  No.  But, hopefully, you get the idea.

Knowing your sacred money archetype will help you
*ditch old money habits that do not benefit you
*release shame around money
*move past constantly worrying about money

You will be able to beautifully step into
*being in alignment with your money
*unlocking your money blocks
*harmonizing your spirituality with your financial life

I know what it is like to feel sick to your stomach when sitting down to pay bills.  I know what it is like to never feel like you have enough money.  I know what it is like to not be able to buy your kids new clothes.  Yes!  I know!  I have been there.

But, I also know what it is like to have great success and to take two or three amazing vacations a year.  I know what it is like to have the big 5 bedroom home and be able to go out and buy that new guitar for your teenage son who lives for music.

You see - I have had both experiences.  My husband + I have had great successes and we have had dismal financial failure.  But, doing sacred money work is deeply transformational!  How you relate to your money is a reflection of how you relate to pretty much everything else in your life.  Seriously - I am not kidding!

Therefore, discovering what your sacred money archetype is can have a beautiful and profound affect on all areas of your life - as a parent, as a romantic partner, as a friend, as a community member, as a business owner/employee/co-worker, and as a spiritual being moving through this human experience.

With love for you,
Janelle

Looking for Couples to Interview

We have a new project in the works.  We are writing a book for entrepreneurial couples, Inspiring Couples in Business + in Love.  This book will give readers insight into how to succeed as entrepreneurs while maintaining a loving, healthy + sexy relationship.  We will share how learning and implementing transcendent lovemaking + couples' dreamwork + awareness of your archetypes (including your sacred inner money personality) will help you succeed in business and your relationship with little to no more fighting over money or your sex life.

But, really it is so much more than just the simple idea of no more fighting over these things.  In fact, couples, who are entrepreneurs, especially those who own a business together, understand that there are often great challenges by being in love and running a business.

Can a couple really switch gears and be just a romantic couple without constantly talking business?  You bet, but just as the romantic relationship takes work so does the business relationship.  When you try and blend the two together the challenges are multiplied.  But, guess what?  So, are the joys and successes if you have the tools in place.

We have been in business together for 10+ years, as well as owning individual businesses, and we know the ups and the downs, the joys and the sorrows, the high fives and the arguments, and we have learned, developed, and created amazing unique spiritual tools to thrive as a couple + as business partners.

We don't want other entrepreneurial couples to simply survive the journey.  We want them to thrive!
We want YOU to thrive!

At this point, we are still open to including other couples in the book.  We have interviews already occurring, but if you are or if you know of an entrepreneurial couple, who might be willing to be interviewed and included in the book, drop an email to janellealexphd@gmail.com

Here's to thriving,
Janelle + Rob

How Can You Save Money During the Holidays?

Buy, buy, buy!  Is that really what the holidays should be about?  Your credit card company might like that, but is it really what you want to do?
Here are the key points from today's episode:
  1. Don't buy things you really don't want or need.  Aunt Ethel doesn't need a pair of wool underwear.
  2. Indulge in Creativity
  3. Give to others who can't give to you…
Happy Holidays,

Start a Change Jar!

As a couple it is hard sometimes to fit things into your budget. Especially those things that are not necessities of life. This is why you need to start a change jar. Simply find a jar that can hold lots of coins and start chucking all your loose change into the jar. Here is the important part, stay out of the jar. Don't get into it for change for the vending machine or for other little things that would deplete your new funds. This money is to be used for frivolous things. Things such as vacations, or date night for the two of you. The moment you give in and start extracting money your special times will go right out the door with it. Plus no one counts on the change that accumulates in your pockets so it seems like free and clear money. This way you won't be feeling guilty about taking that vacation or going to that fancy restaurant on only your change. Make sure you get a big enough jar to hold all the fund and set up a savings account to hold it if your jar gets to full. You have to be tough and refuse to dip into the jar but with a little self discipline you shouldn't have to much trouble and when you are on the beach somewhere you will be glad you didn't get into it.

Save money together.

Our economy right now has everyone struggling to find ways to cut costs. Doing it together can be beneficial and fun. Get the sunday paper and go through the coupons together. Find the best prices on items by searching the internet and comparing. Make these actions an adventure for the two of you. Do some more research and find fun free things to do for you and your family. These are all great ways to save money and enjoy your time together doing it. Make it a contest to see who can find the best prices or the most fun free thing to do. With a little love and hard work you will not only save a lot of money but build a relationship where two people know how to work as a team.

Movie night!!!!

Make tonight movie night and surprise your lover with a wonderful movie, popcorn or their favorite snack. Pull the couch in front of the television. Turn the lights off in the room and snuggle down and watch your movie. Do it after the kids go to bed and you can even have a make out session. If you want a little more excitement rent an adult movie and see what happens on the couch while watching that. The point being is you don't have to go out and spend a lot of money to get some good quality alone time. Start today and make you life richer by using things that don't cost much like our in home movie theater idea.

Money Matters - Make a List and stick to it.

Money is always a concern when you are in a relationship. However said two people can live as cheaply as one was crazy. My couples money tip today is for you to make a list before you go to the grocery store. Go through all you cabinets and cupboards and make a detailed list of things you are out of or want to pick up for upcoming meals. Be specific down to what sides you are going to have with what meat. Plan out the whole weeks worth of meals and snacks and complete you list. Now come the tough part, when you get to the store stick to the list only. The grocery stores are set up to attract your attention to buy things you didn't really want with flashy displays and placement of the products. You both have to be strong. Another tip is eat a meal right before you go to the store so that everything and anything doesn't look wonderful. With a little self control you will soon find yourselves saving a lot of money and using the things you purchased. Next time you are on a wonderful vacation thing about how you might not have been where you are if you bought $40-$50 dollars worth of junk at the store?

Use the ice block method for major purchases.

Spending money as a couple is quite hard to avoid. However impulse spending is easy to avoid all you have to do is turn to your freezer. Take your credit card you use to purchase these impulse items and find a tub and fill it with water. Next place the credit card inside the tube and put it in your freezer. Then the next time the two of you want to purchase that silly home decoration instead of rushing out and putting it on your credit card you will have to wait for the thaw. Yes then set the block of ice out containing your credit card and you have to wait until the block completely thaws out to make the purchase. Usually what will happen is that you will realize during the thawing process that you don't really need that item that you had to have just days ago. This method has been around for years and has helped many couples avoid financial hard ship. If one or both of your are impulse shoppers then this method could save you bundles of money.

Budgets, budgets, budgets.

Budgets they are a fact of life in a relationship. It seemed so easy to stay on budget before you had a partner and maybe even children. When you only had to worry about yourself and the unknown things that popped up. Now you have to worry about the rest of the people in your family, too. Well here is a great way to start to get used to using a budget. Start out by making a budget for your dates, say you only have like $50 to spend on a evening out. See how the two of you start to work together to figure out where you want to dedicate the most money. Maybe you would rather have a nice dinner so the rest of the night you have to do things on the cheap. Or maybe the food doesn't matter and you eat before you go out and spend the money on movies or at the bar for drinks. This is the fun part and it gets you working together a staple to any happy relationship. Once you start to get your dates within you budget, then branch out and start doing it at the supermarket or when you go shopping. Soon you will have easy conversations when it comes to money. This might not make your finances in the best shape but it will start giving you tools to use to make the most of what you do have, and that is a great relationship.

Make a savings goal.

As a couple one of the most important things you can do is make a savings goal. Maybe you want to take an awesome vacation, or purchase new patio furniture. Anything that is not a normal purchase would be a great thing to save for. You can put money in a jug or dedicate so much from each pay check to reach the goal. Keep a tote board up in your house to show how close you are to reaching your goal. Make sure to keep the money safe and in a hard to get place so that you don't just get into it anytime you desire something. Once you finally reach your goal then you can celebrate by purchasing the thing that both of your desire. When picking your treasure make sure to pick something the both of you can use. Don't pick a big screen tv for him to watch the games on and don't pick a new vanity table for her to get ready in the morning. Sharing is one of the secrets to staying healthy as a couple. Not to mention the rewards are so much sweeter when you have someone to enjoy them with. Start stocking back the change now I think I hear Hawaii calling the two of you.

Money in your Relationship

One thing that can bring a fight on is the topic of money. Usually one person takes control of the finances in a realtionship and the other partner has no clue as to where they stand. This is very dangerous for both partners. You should always have an idea and discuss your finanaces with each other no matter which person you are. Both partners should have access to some amount of money they can spend on their personal likes. Don't call it an allowance just say it is your portion of the household income to spend. Even if the person can't manage money worth a hoot they still need to be in control of some of it. If one of you is very bad a managing money I suggest setting up a special account for the person to use as their spending money. This way your basic budget stays in tact and you don't have to worry about little surprises throughing off the household income. If you want your relationship to stay healthy you need to discuss most of your purchases, going to the store and paying the bills need not be discussed unless you are deciding which ones you can't pay this month. If a partner does something outside the norm to make some money, make sure they get their fair share of the amount. Bottom line is your well bing comes first but everyone need to just blow some money from time to time. Work together on your budget and it will be easier for both of your to stick to. Last thing if you do get in trouble financially don't be afraid to ask for help right now banks and companies are tring as hard as they can to keep the economy from a total break down.

Plan some trips for the two of you!

Everyone that I know loves to go on trips. You know vacations, getting away from it all and acting like you never have to come home. Well at least until you run out of money. Well I am suggesting that as a couple you start planning out trips for the two of you to take. This way you are prepared when you really do get to take a vacation. Get as much literature as you can on the places you want to go and make sure to make an iteneray. By planning way ahead you can keep your eyes open for great deals that might pop up. You don't have to limit yourself to one destination either, choose several places that you would like to go and start files on each one. Taking your time and doing lots of research will help you get the most for you money on any trip. You will also have time to find things that might be a little out of the way to do while you are there. By taking time you can also find out if you best deal is a package vacation or purchasing hotel, air, and ground transportation separately. You vacation or trip should be a memorable time, so make sure you plan ahead, also make sure to plan ahead on things you will need. A new camera might be a good idea to help save all these memories for the future. Heck make a wall chart of all the places you want to go and then mark them off as you come back from each on. Travel is so much fun and it is even better when you go with someone you love.

You can also make a separate list of place you want to take your children if you have any. This way you can focus on romantic trips and kiddie trips both. Include the children in picking the places they want to go, after all this is their vacation also.
Click on the title of this post to go to Spirit Air for some fabulous deals on airfares.

Dreams go up on the Board

As a couple we have so many dreams and hopes that we are striving for. Sometimes we lose sight of these things and sometimes both of us are not on the same page. Why not make a dream board together. You can pick up the materials at your local discount store. A cork board big enough to house all your dreams and some thumb tacks are all you need. Maybe a view magazines to find pictures in or use the ones you already have at home. Now work together starting with the big stuff and figure out what the two of you are striving for. Find your dream house and tack it up. Get some images of jobs you would like have. Put up a map of where you want to live. Get fake money to show what you want to be earning. Post items such as vacations destinations, cars, boats, big screen televisions, or anything you would love to enjoy. Then at least once a week (Daily would be better) together look at your board. Constantly add things to it as they arise in your thoughts, and when you get one of the thing on your board take it down to make room for the next dream. If you are familar with the Law of Attraction this will help you bring to yourself what you want.
