Black Friday, That's A Bunch of BullS**T to Granny

Hilarious adventures abound as Granny comes to live with her grandson and his parents. It is rarely an easy transition when aging parents and grandparents find they need to live with their children, and Angry Granny is no exception. But, on top of Granny's declining memory, she has lost her filter. So, be prepared because even though her grandson isn't used to hearing curse words Angry Granny is about to change that as she regularly let's the a-word fly. It's cute. It's funny. And, it's touching as the experience of having Angry Granny in the house will take you from laughing to saying "oh my" and right back to giggling again.

Rob Alex and Boegley Alex co-wrote Angry Granny, but it all started when Daddy (Rob) started telling Angry Granny bedtime stories to Boegley. The laughter and giggles that poured forth from the bedroom could be heard all the way downstairs. After a few weeks and a long list of Angry Granny adventures, this father-son duo decided to share their knee slapping and sometimes shocking stories with the world. Get ready because these two will take you on quite a journey alongside Angry Granny, and they just may share more of Granny's adventures as time goes by.

Your Sacred Inner Money Story - What's Yours?

What if you could reveal your
Sacred Inner Money Story?

Isn't it time you stopped struggling over money with your sweetie?

You deserve to make empowered decisions when it comes to your financial life.

Whether you are well off or whether you don't feel you have enough money, you are born with particular lessons to seek out +  explore.  One of those overarching lessons is based on money.

Ultimately, it impacts nearly every area of your life.

Maybe you are a Nurturer or a Ruler or a Romantic or even a Maverick!

Do you want to find out?
Drop your name + email in now and get access to your quiz!

Not sure if you want to take a quiz about how you relate to money?

What if I told you that Spirituality + Money Go Together?!

The term spirituality is often not "allowed" to be spoken in relation to a few other terms such as "money" or "sex".  Well, guess what?  When you become aware that your spirituality and your money are actually related to one another you will discover a powerful peace that may blow you away.  In fact, your money is also related to your sexual energy - no surprise there as they are both connected to your sacral chakra, but that is for another post another day.

Just think - no more freaking out over money, no more wondering where in the heck it went or how you are supposed to bring more to you.  When you discover your sacred money archetypes you will be empowered with new confidence, a relaxed sense of peace, and a beautiful sense of freedom.

Wait - what is an archetype?  An archetype is a representation or a symbolic model that is embedded in  your unconscious.  For example, think of the word mother.  Typically, the things that come to mind of what a mother should/would be is loving, nurturing, compassionate, supportive, strong, etc.  Does that fit all mothers?  No.  But, hopefully, you get the idea.

Knowing your sacred money archetype will help you
*ditch old money habits that do not benefit you
*release shame around money
*move past constantly worrying about money

You will be able to beautifully step into
*being in alignment with your money
*unlocking your money blocks
*harmonizing your spirituality with your financial life

I know what it is like to feel sick to your stomach when sitting down to pay bills.  I know what it is like to never feel like you have enough money.  I know what it is like to not be able to buy your kids new clothes.  Yes!  I know!  I have been there.

But, I also know what it is like to have great success and to take two or three amazing vacations a year.  I know what it is like to have the big 5 bedroom home and be able to go out and buy that new guitar for your teenage son who lives for music.

You see - I have had both experiences.  My husband + I have had great successes and we have had dismal financial failure.  But, doing sacred money work is deeply transformational!  How you relate to your money is a reflection of how you relate to pretty much everything else in your life.  Seriously - I am not kidding!

Therefore, discovering what your sacred money archetype is can have a beautiful and profound affect on all areas of your life - as a parent, as a romantic partner, as a friend, as a community member, as a business owner/employee/co-worker, and as a spiritual being moving through this human experience.

With love for you,
Janelle

The couple that struggles together learns to overcome obstacles.

Obstacles are part of everyday life. How we handle them shapes our personality as well as our relationship. Do you shy away from struggles with you partner or do you hold his/her hand and face them together. Some of the best love stories have been about a couple that struggles together and then together achieves their dreams. Yet we se so many couples split up with the waters get a little rough. Facing these storms at sea while holding on to each other gives your relationship strength beyond measure. Sure their are times that the two of you will think there is no way out of your problems, but that is when you have to hold each other even tighter. Financial struggles seem to be the worst for some reason for couples it makes sense to me to stand together and battle these financial woes then for one of you to turn and run. Heck their are lots of things you can do together as a couple that are free to help get through you financial struggles. Heck making love is free and a lot of fun. Walks, talks and sight seeing are tremendous activities for couples to enjoy that don't cost a thing. So when struggles hit your relationship take each others hands and hold tight. The storm will pass and it will pass faster if your bond is strong.

Budgets, budgets, budgets.

Budgets they are a fact of life in a relationship. It seemed so easy to stay on budget before you had a partner and maybe even children. When you only had to worry about yourself and the unknown things that popped up. Now you have to worry about the rest of the people in your family, too. Well here is a great way to start to get used to using a budget. Start out by making a budget for your dates, say you only have like $50 to spend on a evening out. See how the two of you start to work together to figure out where you want to dedicate the most money. Maybe you would rather have a nice dinner so the rest of the night you have to do things on the cheap. Or maybe the food doesn't matter and you eat before you go out and spend the money on movies or at the bar for drinks. This is the fun part and it gets you working together a staple to any happy relationship. Once you start to get your dates within you budget, then branch out and start doing it at the supermarket or when you go shopping. Soon you will have easy conversations when it comes to money. This might not make your finances in the best shape but it will start giving you tools to use to make the most of what you do have, and that is a great relationship.

Fights are like weeds in your garden!

Farmers can grow the most perfect garden in the world but occasionally a few weeds will pop up. This is the same with fights in your relationship, no matter how strong your relationship is from time to time a fight will break out. Usually these will take the form of an argument and they can be short lived or long and drawn out, that is up to the individuals. If you go into a relationship with the delusion of never having a fight then you are not very realistic. Fights sometimes help clear the air and get things out in the open. There are some important things you need to know when a fight does accrue. First and for most stay away from personal attacks, don't just throw things out in the middle of an argument that don't pertain to the situation. Things like your fat, or stupid or both fat and stupid are not important and will really harm your relationship down the road. Stick with the subject and focus on that. Second, don't let the fight consume you so that you break down the lines of communication, not speaking to each other is the worst type of fight because no resolution will ever be made. If you need time to get away from the situation take a little but make sure to let your partner know how long you will be gone. Lastly and this is a hard one, try to wait for make up sex until the day after you make up. You don't want to associate great sex with a fight and you don't want to fall into that trap of, "we need to fight to have great sex" Set your boundaries and agree at a time when you are not fighting that disagreements will not ruin your relationship, set up a way to discuss the issues in a calm manner so that both partners get a say in the outcome. With a little work your fights can become little more then heated debates.

Visualize the Good!

As a couple sometimes we forget to think about all the good things that are in our relationship. We focus or fight about things like bills, work or other problems in our relationship.

When is the last time you set down and talked about the good things in your relationship? What about how great the kids are or how special it was when he bought you flowers the other day?  Maybe she massaged your tense shoulders during the evening.

I am banking on the fact that your relationship has many things to be grateful for. Together you need to sit down and talk about or visualize all the great things the next time you have a fight. No, this won't make your problems go away, but it just might put them in the right perspective.

Always end your night visualizing things your partner does that you feel are wonderful and you will likely wake in the morning with a smile on your face.

Want to test your Relationship? Then Remodel.

Do you want to get a true test as to what your relationship can take? Then take on any type of remodeling project together. There is something about having to work on the same project within your home that brings out the worst in each other. Weather it's that you can't decide on the right paint color. Maybe you both do the same job in different ways. Believe me their are plenty of challenges to a relationship during do it yourself projects. If you relationship can survive this then you can bet it's a pretty strong relationship.

So many times couples end up not speaking to each other during the remodel. Tempers flare and sometimes we say things before we think about them. So my advice is, If you see that you are going to struggle doing the project together you have two options. The first one is hire someone to complete the job, that way no feelings get hurt and the job gets done very quickly. Yes it will cost you money but think of the time it will save you from being mad at each other. The second option would be don't do it together. One of you work on that project while the other works on a different project in the house. Meet up once in a while for breaks and supper and to keep each other informed on your progress.

With two different people wanting to compete the same chore in two different ways there are bound to be scuffles. The main point is to get the project done and sometimes you just need to back away and let them do it their way. After all if it gets done that is the main goal. So as a test remodel some part of your dwelling with you partner and see how strong the two of you are.

Checkbook

One of the most common fights couples have is about money. There never seems to be enough money when you are trying to budget for two or a whole household. Yes we have to set boundaries and budgets yet we also have to have a little freedom. My feelings are that you need to have one checkbook that takes care of your household bills, car payments, insurance, etc. That way the both of you can oversee the finances. This checkbook should stay at the house never to leave. If you need to use it for groceries, or outside purposes, get a debit card. Neither partner should carry this checkbook around with them. That is set in stone, both of you know exactly where that checkbook is at all times. You can designate one or both of you to pay the bills as they come in.

Now here is where I side track from most people. I think that both partners should also have either their own checking account or at least a preloaded debit card. Why? you might ask. Because we all have things we would like to purchase that we don't want to have to ask the other partner if it is okay. Set a predetermined amount to deposit in these accounts each pay period and then hands off the others account. This will allow them to save for things they might want to purchase or to buy you presents for anniversaries, birthdays, or other holidays. We use to keep all our money in one pot and it made if very difficult to purchase an anniversary present for my wife. Either I would ask her for a certain amount of money and then I had to answer 20 questions as to why I needed it. If I didn't get approval first the checkbook would show the deed anyway. Then I would be answering questions like "Why did you write a check to Victoria's Secret the other day" Thus my surprises where always blown.

If you decide to do this you cannot judge the other person on what they buy with their budgeted amount. For instance if you partner saves their money and purchases a $250 ipod. You cannot say "We could have used that money to buy this or that" They have made the effort and sacrificed other things to get this item. Make an effort to understand their purchase, usually most people have a reason to buy something. This technique also helps out if one of you is a classic over spender. Now they are limited to only the amount in their checking account, while the other remains off limits to both partners.

Relationships are tough enough but throw in money problems and they become even tougher. This ours, mine and yours technique gives everyone a little variance and a chance to purchase things without getting approval from the relationship committee. Lastly just to add don't make these individual accounts with credit cards that can be a nightmare only use accounts where you deposit money and that is all you can withdraw.
