Keep Business Out of Your Bedroom? NO!

ARGH!  I just came across an article about partners in life and in business.  It offers pros and cons of being a couple and having a business together.  Sadly, some of their tips are WAY off!  Mind you there are some good tips such as discovering one another's strengths and implementing those in certain aspects of your business, create your own schedule so that you can spend romantic time together, and divide your responsibilities in a way that works for the two you.

However, the tips that they tell you to follow such as leave intimacy at home and keeping business outside the bedroom are so far off base we cannot even began to tell you in this brief article.

Couples who work with us quickly come to learn the humongous benefits to maintaining their intimacy at work.  Now, this doesn't mean have sex in your office or grope one another in front of customer, clients or employees.  Geesh - have some couth.  (*Of course, depending on where your office(s) is you may be able to enjoy a sexy + playful time there - it just depends and you should use discretion.)  This is about using your emotional + mental intimacy to fluidly work together, trust each other, respect each other, know when to let your partner lead and when you should take the lead.  Working intimately means creating a sacred and safe environment to work in your business as well as in your romantic relationship.

Are you wondering about the "keeping the business out of the bedroom" tip we are telling you is wrong?  Well, when you learn sacred lovemaking and then learn how to take that to the higher level of transcendent lovemaking you can use it to honor your business, create innovative ideas, magically attract more money (clients + customers + unique surprising ways) into your company and a lot more.  One example of an off-the-wall attraction of money happened in 2009 for us (We have had these types of unique ways happen more times than we can recall - but we will share this fun example that popped up from our memory.).  We had set an intention, performed a ceremony and practiced transcendent lovemaking.  A few days later a woman showed up at our bowling center (Yes - we owned one for a number of years!) and gave Rob $1250 that she had one a few weeks prior while at casino.  She felt compelled to donate it to us and our center.  This was 2009 - remember?  So, the economy was on a huge downswing and after having many lucrative years in business, we were facing dire financial straits at the center.  This wonderful woman did NOT know of our financial troubles - no one did at that time.  Anyhow, this was the exact amount we needed to pay a specific bill that week!  ;)  Had we left our "business out of our bedroom" we wouldn't have had the money to pay that bill.

We have seen this happen time and time again for us + for the couples we have taught to implement our methods.  So, seeing people suggest couples should try and completely separate their business from their love lives is...well, I just wanted to yell - "No! No, no no NO!"

Keeping it Sacred + Sexy,
Janelle + Rob

If you want to learn how to beautifully blend your love life and your business life together with your partner, you should to talk to us.  If so, let's meet over a virtual cup of coffee (or tea) to see if the unique spiritual tools we teach are a good fit for you.  We only offer 6-8 of these complimentary coffee chats each month - so drop an email to janellealexphd@gmail.com with "Coffee Chat" in the subject line to apply for one, and we will get back with you in 24-48 hours.

Looking for Couples to Interview

We have a new project in the works.  We are writing a book for entrepreneurial couples, Inspiring Couples in Business + in Love.  This book will give readers insight into how to succeed as entrepreneurs while maintaining a loving, healthy + sexy relationship.  We will share how learning and implementing transcendent lovemaking + couples' dreamwork + awareness of your archetypes (including your sacred inner money personality) will help you succeed in business and your relationship with little to no more fighting over money or your sex life.

But, really it is so much more than just the simple idea of no more fighting over these things.  In fact, couples, who are entrepreneurs, especially those who own a business together, understand that there are often great challenges by being in love and running a business.

Can a couple really switch gears and be just a romantic couple without constantly talking business?  You bet, but just as the romantic relationship takes work so does the business relationship.  When you try and blend the two together the challenges are multiplied.  But, guess what?  So, are the joys and successes if you have the tools in place.

We have been in business together for 10+ years, as well as owning individual businesses, and we know the ups and the downs, the joys and the sorrows, the high fives and the arguments, and we have learned, developed, and created amazing unique spiritual tools to thrive as a couple + as business partners.

We don't want other entrepreneurial couples to simply survive the journey.  We want them to thrive!
We want YOU to thrive!

At this point, we are still open to including other couples in the book.  We have interviews already occurring, but if you are or if you know of an entrepreneurial couple, who might be willing to be interviewed and included in the book, drop an email to janellealexphd@gmail.com

Here's to thriving,
Janelle + Rob

7 New Year's Resolutions for Couples

7 New Year's Resolutions for Couples (YES, for Couples - Try It!)

Do couples ever make resolutions for their relationship?
Here at the time of New Year's Resolutions, and at any time, it sure seems like a good ides for couples to make resolutions for their relationship.
To that end, here are 7 suggestions for Couple Resolutions:
1) Remember first attractions - It's so easy in the general messiness of living with another person to forget about what attracted you to each other in the first place. This would be a good list to make and a good conversation to have every know and then.
It's been said by my favorite author (Author Unknown) that "When you are up to your neck in alligators, it's hard to remember the original objective was to drain the swamp."This applies here big time.
2) Fight for relationship - Couples fight sometimes. That's just part of the territory. So since you are going to fight, why not decide in advance what to for, yes? I suggest fighting for the relationship. Most folks fight to be right. Fight for the relationship.
3) Live below your means - Now I've gone from preaching to meddling, right? The happiest couples I know are not necessarily the richest couples I know. The happiest couples I know are those without significant money worries. The best way to achieve this is to live below your means.
4) Know love language - In what way does your partner best experience and feel loved? Is it actions like acts of service? Is it words? Is it being touched?
The best way to find out is to ask.
5) Speak love language - Once you know the love language of your partner, speak it. Radical notion I know, but it works. The temptation is to speak in our own love language. Often that is not the language of our partner. Know it and speak it.
6) Daily time together - I don't care if it's just 15 minutes. Couple need this time to keep the connection strong. In the hustle and bustle of each day, couple time is often the first thing to go. Schedule it if you have to, just make sure you get it in.
7) Regular date night - This could be the best couple resolution of all. You dated when you were getting together. Why stop? A regular date night allows you to spend quality couple time together, and gives you something to look forward to each week or month.
Bonus Tip - Think a regular date night could get expensive? You're right. Think a regular date night has to be expensive? You're wrong.

3 Things To Live - Love, Hold, Let Go

To live in this world, you must be able to do three things: to love what is mortal; to hold it against your bones knowing your own life depends on it; and, when the time comes to let it go, to let it go.

Fall In Love On The Bus

“For me happiness occurs arbitrarily: a moment of eye contact on a bus, where all at once you fall in love; or a frozen second in a park where it's enough that there are trees in the world.” - Russell Brand

Love Doesn't Move In Straight Line

"Love is not linear. Sex is not rational. Emotions won't cooperate with the mind's methodical attempts to analyze lust's sticky substance.  The brain will not sit idly by and watch while the heart, lungs, groin, and guts break from convention and dive headlong into the sensual experience."

Grumpy Granny Thinks Love Stinks

Well, geesh, Granny!
Did life make you angry or break you heart?

Okay...so, earlier this week we shared a couple of lines from Kelly Clarkson's Tie It Up.  Why not share an opposite view... Love Stinks by J. Geils Band?  Granny sure seems to think love stinks.

You love her
But she loves him

And he loves somebody else
You just can't win

And so it goes
Till the day you die

This thing they call love
It's gonna make you cry

I've had the blues
The reds and the pinks

One thing for sure

Love Stinks!

You're The Yin to My Yang

"I love the ring of your name
You're the yin to my yang
Oh baby let's give it a shot
Every wall needs a frame
Every ball needs a chain
I'm talkin' about tying the knot
Tie it up"

 Kelly Clarkson

Texting to Break-Up

Times sure have changed haven't they?
One of our teenage sons has been broken up with and broken up with another
via text messaging.  What happened to doing this in person, or the Dear John letter?
What is next?  Might as well be our elementary kids texting their homework answers.
