How to Help Your Partner Deal With An Unwanted Move

How to Help Your Partner Deal With an Unwanted Move

Sometimes, one person in a marriage gets an opportunity in another city, state or even country that can cause strife in the partnership. Perhaps the other person will be expected to move with the spouse and away from friends and family. This kind of scenario can be hard on the relationship and can sometimes even lead to the destruction of it. However, if you and your spouse are committed to making the move, even if one person is not looking forward to it, you can get through the change and be stronger in the end.
The most important thing to realize is that you should never make the decision to move without your partner's knowing. You can't just hire the movers and expect your spouse to be on board with it when the moving truck pulls into the driveway to move your things. It is critical for you to begin the discussion of moving as soon as you realize the opportunity is there. All decisions related to the move, if in fact, the decision to move is made, should be made together. From the movers you pick to the actual moving day.
You might need to get outside help to assist you and your spouse through the difficult moving process. For example, if you have a great job waiting for you in your new location, but your spouse is going to be jobless when you move, it is wise to contact a career counselor before the move is made to find out what your partner can do to make the transition easier. If your spouse can get a job in the new location as well, it might make him or her feel better about the change.
If you decide that only one of you needs a job in the new location, you might want to help your spouse get involved in local organizations, clubs or educational opportunities to help him or her integrate into the new community as quickly as possible. Almost all cities have local colleges or recreation centers that offer classes and other organized activities, which can help your spouse feel more at home more quickly.
Finally, if your spouse is completely unhappy with the move and you really feel like the change could tear your relationship apart, it might not be the opportunity you thought it was. Sometimes, the move you don't make could be the right decision after all.

Kiss someplace new tonight.

Tonight make it a point to kiss someplace new. Now that can mean a couple of things for starters it could mean that you kiss a different part of their body. Try out some different spots on the body and see the reaction your partner has. For example kissing on the inside of jointed areas can be a huge turn on to some people. The inside of the arm where the elbow bends, or the back side of the knee can both be very sensual places that don't get a lot of attention. The hands or feet are other areas that can be very sensitive to a kiss. The point being pick a spot on your lovers body you have never kissed and kiss it. Now another way you can go about this is find a place in your house or neighborhood that you have never had a kiss before. Maybe it is the attic, or the basement. You could go to a local park or downtown in the middle of the busy time. Where ever you chose the point it to show your partner you want to experience them everywhere. This can become a habit. I know a couple who's goal is to kiss in every state in the United States or America. You can seek out special kissing places such as waterfalls, scenic views or even sporting events. What ever floats your boat or makes your lips tingle go for it. Happy kissing day to you and your partner.

Search out new things for lovers.

Relationships are a common ground most of the time. Their is safety and a routine that you start to follow. You get sucked into following the same schedule, eating the same things, and following the patterns that are comfortable. I want to suggest breaking out of those routines. Find something different to do. Take a class together or jus take off driving with no place in mind to go just end up someplace. When we were dating new experiences were all around us and part of that was trying to find out what your partner was like or what they enjoyed. Why does this have to stop take that energy you used and drag your partner to a cooking party or a dance class. Stop falling into the same pattern of wake, work, eat, sleep. Start experiencing life together as if you were dating again. You should make it a point to relearn your partner everyday.

Consider your time together when looking for a new job.

One thing that slips peoples minds when they are looking for a new job is the time lost for their relationship. You relationship needs to be considered during this process as much as anything else. I have seen countless amounts of people work opposite shifts to avoid child care costs. This is great for your finances but very bad for your relationship. Sometimes I understand it is unavoidable when you are just starting a new position. Look at the way your new position will effect your relationship before saying, yes to it. Will it put stress on your relationship? Will it allow you time to have together? When will you sleep compared to your partner? These are all valid questions that need to be addressed before you take a position. Can your relationship handle it if you new position calls for you to be gone a good portion of the week? There are countless questions that can arise. Money is an obvious concern for people in this economy, however a broken relationship might cost you more then you stand to make. Weigh all your options before deciding were to apply for jobs and start with the ones that mean the most to you. I am hoping that is the love you share with that special someone.

Ring of Fire

Want a little something to spice up your sex life but not something that cost a bundle? You don't want to dress up and you aren't into the bondage thing. You just want a little something to make it a tad different. Well that is when you need to check into a cock ring. The premiss of the cock ring is to contain the blood flow inside the penis for a more extended period of time. The hope in this is to allow the woman time to satisfy her needs as the penis stays hard longer. Ejaculation is usually delayed a bit and the veins of the penis add a little more ridges to stimulate the sexual parts it comes in contact with. Now cock rings can be dangerous so always read the instructions and don't push the time limit after all you don't want to damage your penis. The added size of the penis while it might seem small is just what the doctor ordered to bring a different light into your sex life. While like anything cock rings can get quite expensive but the basic models will fit into anyone's budget. Try one out today and see how just a little variation in your love making can add lots of excitement.

Find new recipes!

As a couple we get into the patter of cooking the same things over and over. Remember the days where each day had a title as to what you were going to eat. Meatloaf Monday, Taco Tuesday, ...
Well just as you need spice in your relationship you need it in your diet also. Nowadays new and exciting dishes are just a click away using the internet. Find a website that you both like that has a variety of recipes for several different types of cuisine. Take turns picking out something that sounds wonderful to you and make a list of six new dishes. Then make it a point to try these dishes our during the next month. After 6 months of doing this you will have tried 36 new dishes. They don't have to be ones that take all day to cook find websites that have simple meals that busy people can prepare in no time. Now it becomes a challenge to find new and exciting recipes to out do each other. Grade each recipe after you have consumed the meal and anything with a low score toss out. Ones you give high marks you can store or put into your meal rotation. Now forget about boring Meatloaf Mondays and starting thinking of your meals as an adventure in taste.

Quite making excuses

Relationships are full of excuses. Excuses to get out of attending events, excuses for not having friends over, excuses for why the house is a mess, excuses for not making love and we can all fall into this trap. Excuses are easy to make up so that you don't have to go out of your way to do things. They can be as easy as I am tired to as complex as having several back up excuses so that if the first ones don't work you are covered. You can not mow the lawn because it's hot, or you can not go to your friends cook out because someone you don't like is going to be there. These are all cop outs and they don't allow you to live like you should. Stop making excuses today! Start living your life again and start enjoying your relationship like it is new again. Take that dance class, go to that ballgame, stay up late, enjoy life without excuses.

Read something that inspires you.

Reading is one of the best things you can do. Not only for yourself but for your relationship, also. Once a month pick a book that either has something to do with an added area of your relationship or a self help type of book. Not that you have to follow the suggestions of the book word for word or make a complete lifestyle change. However I am sure you can find bits and pieces of the book that you might enjoy in your life. Things like tantric practices, building self esteem, ways to improve conversations, are great ideas when you are searching for books. If you are on a budget you can find older book in bargain bins or Amazon.com has lots of books that basically you purchase for a penny and just pay the shipping and handling on. Click on our amazon side bar and find a book that is just right for you. What I like about amazon is their search feature. Just type in a suggestion and you will soon have thousands of books to choose from. Your library is another option but in my dealings with our local library is that they tend to shy away from books about things having to do with sex, and or relationships issues. If you have lots of friends that read you can even start a book co-op where you all purchase a book then put it into the community for anyone to read after you finish it. By reading different things we keep our minds open to things the might really help our relationship down the line or at the current time. You can either read the book together or apart. If you are reading a book leave it out so that your partner can see what you are reading. This act alone will spark some conversations that might get you both thinking a little differently.

How much focus do you put in your relationship?

Do you put much focus in your relationship? Are you always looking for things to make it better or are you like the millions that just let it happen. Well I am here to tell you that if you think your relationship just gets better with age, you are wrong. If you talk to couples that have great relationships you will find a common factor they are always looking for something to challenge or inspire their relationship. It might be a new activity for them to share or a trip to a different location. Experimenting with intimacy or finding different date ideas can make your relationship keep that spark that it had in the beginning. You should think about your relationship everyday because it is a constant living breathing part of your life. Even if it is a little as making sure to give that special kiss before leaving for work. Our relationship is the basis for all our happiness when you have a great relationship and it thrives the rest of your life will follow. So put your relationship at the top of your list today and everyday.

Today is my Birthday!

Yes today is my birthday and I am excited. As far as couples go this is a great time for the two of you to experiment a little. The birthday girl/boy is the one that should get to choose what happens on their birthday. As the present giver and as long as the request is not to far out of your comfort zone, do it. Try something different you might be amazed at how much it excites you plus you will have the joy of knowing you did it for that special person in your life on there birthday. Make your partners birthday as special as you can it is the one day they can be a little selfish so don't take that thunder away from them. Plus don't forget you will be having a birthday soon, too.

New Years Resolutions

It is that time of year where we all start making our New Years resolutions. Most of us will be hoping to lose weight, get a new job, be better parents, etc. However this year you should also make a resolution to improve your relationship, no matter what shape it is in. There is always room for improvement. Maybe you can try something different in your sex life, or make more time for dates. Whatever you focus should be on during the upcoming year it should focus on making the two of you a better couple. Your resolution might be to take that trip the two of you have been wanting to take forever. If that is the case don't waste time start a savings plan for it today on New Years Day. Get outside the box and pick things that might not be your usual focus like making a resolution to take a cooking class together this year or maybe even a class on tantric sex. There are lots of things out there the two of you can look into but make a plan today New Years Day only happens once a year so make the most of it for the two of you.

Learn to Juggle

If there is one thing you need to learn to do being in a relationship it is to juggle? Not balls or chainsaws but your schedule. Once you commit to a relationship the giving and taking begin. You now have to find time to fit things in your schedule that you might not have had to before you feel in love. The big one is spending time with your partner, this consumes a good portion of your waking and non working hours. This is when you have to start juggling the thing you would have normally done before you were in this relationship. Things like going out with friends, playing golf, going shopping just to name a few. These things might have to be combined with time spend with your partner to get them all in. One of the things I find challenging in a relationship is your time spent watching television. I don't watch a lot but there are a few things I love to view, the problem lies in juggling this. For instance on Monday night I like to watch the monday night football game while my partners favorite show is on at the same time, sounds like a problem, huh? Well here is where we both juggle, my football game usually last longer than her show so we watch hers but on commercials we flip to the game to watch a few minutes here and there and check the score. Once her show is over she sits and watches the rest of the football game with me. The problem isn't solved but it has be juggled to make the best of the situation. Now maybe you understand why I think being able to juggle is important in a relationship.

Underwear don't Forget about it.

One trap you don't want to fall into when you are in a relationship is forgetting to be sexy. One of the easiest ways to forget this is by not caring about the underwear you put on. Tighty whities and Grandma Panties should never be worn when you have someone in your life that you enjoy being intimate with. I have never understood why once people are in a relationship that they let themselves slip into not being sexy for their partner. When you were dating did you wear underwear with stains on them? One of the first thing that people do when they start a new relationship is purchase new under clothes. Part of this is anticipating the first time you get to be together physically, but why should that stop once we get to know each other better? If you want to make your relationship last then you need to pay attention to areas that you might slip up in, like wearing nasty underpants. In my opinion their is no excuse for this action, yes you can wear these items to work or while you out with your friends but don't let the person you want to impress the most see this image.

Make love through the new year.

Most people make sure they are near their partner at midnight on New Years Eve to give them a great big kiss. Why not take it a step or two farther and make love until the New Year arrives. Yes, you heard me right ring in the new year with sex. Get the two of you a hotel room or even at your own home. Spend the evening dinning and maybe have a few drinks, if you don't have to drive anywhere, and then just enjoy each others company until it gets closer to the midnight hour. At this point you have to be the judge as to how long your sex will last you don't want to finish before midnight. Heck you can even purchase some New Years Eve party hats and confetti to throw and midnight. How many people can say the made love from one year to the next. Sounds fun doesn't it. Many people are avoiding the crowded places this year for New Years Eve so why not have you own little party for two this New Years Eve.

Is Foreplay Foreign to you?

Foreplay is always in everyone’s sexual vocabulary but do you really enjoy it or is it just part of the process. In my opinion foreplay should be a large part of any sexual experience. When you think about it the actual act of sex doesn’t last very long, but when you add the foreplay in you can make sex last a very long time. Most women can benefit from extended foreplay as in most cases it takes women a little longer to get heated up. You should explore many different types of foreplay and don’t get into a routine of doing the same thing over and over. This is easy to do when we find something that works. Set up signals or simply say when you like something, unless your partner is a mind reader they might not automatically know what feels good to you Remember this also, foreplay can encompass the whole body not just the genitals. Any were from the feet to the scalp can be an erogenous zone. The one performing the foreplay can use different parts of their body to heighten the mood, fingers, tongues, and lips are the normal ones but feet and forearms work to stimulate places also. A good thigh position can enhance your foreplay in many ways. If you want to know more pick up some reading material that will help you explore erogenous areas on the body. Another great idea is to set up an amount of time before any penetration can happen, I would suggest a half hour to start with and see what happens. Remember foreplay is for you and for you partner so use it to the max.

Relationship Ruts

Have you hit a relationship rut? Well if you haven't you most likely will at some point in time. A Relationship rut is when you are in a space where it seems like you are doing the same things over and over. You feel like your life is on a cycle. You get up go to work come home go to bed, and your weekends feel similar. You get up take the kids to baseball games, eat lunch, come home, watch a movie, go to sleep. When you feel yourself getting into this positions, is the time you need to break out and find something new to do. Either by yourself or with the family, you need some thing new to stimulate your relationship. Grab your partner and find something you have never done before and spend a day doing that. Take a photography class, or go white water rafting. Maybe you want to include the kids too. If that is the case go on a all day hike, or visit an amusement park, go bowling, or geocaching. The possibilities are endless, so you really don't have a reason to get in a rut. Make sure what ever you decide to do sounds like fun to your partner or family and then head out. Don't think about your decisions to much and don't use chores as an excuse. The lawn and laundry will still be there when you get home and you can do them later if you like

Increase your sex life with a little education

Many of us think we know all the sex tricks out in the world today. I am sure you know plenty if you are into your relationship like most people that view this blog. However, I don't think as in anything you can ever know or learn to much. I want to suggest you and your partner pick up some reading material on the subject of sex and love and read it together. You might not get anything out of the book or maybe you will learn something that will set your loins on fire. The point is you never know until you try and learning with your partner might spark more then the reading material ever could. A recent purchase that has brought some pleasure into my life is a book called Red Hot Touch (Click the title of this post to go to the web sire) you can also find in in my amazon side bar. The book has lead to some laughing and experimenting for myself and I feel it could help many a relationship. Now go out buy a backpack and some folders pick up the Red Hot Touch book at amazon and start your classes today!
