Art is romantic and it can show that you are, too.

When art is created it is made with the passion of the artist and his/her desire to create and bring beauty to this world. We get to experience this romance by getting to view these works of art, soaking in what the artists have given us of themselves. Being creative is romantic but not everyone can paint the Mona Lisa or sculpt a wonderful statue. We have to look at what our creative thing is to share that romance with our partner. Maybe it is wood working and you construct wonderful cabinets or if your talent is yard work and you make your yard look like the garden of eden. Share this passion with your mate and let them experience what besides your relationship that you are passionate about. Maybe it is cooking, sewing, or playing golf? What ever you passion is can be viewed as art work and can be shared with the people you love. Tell your partner what you love and let them know that it is a desire to be the best you can be at it. Then make sure you don't put that passion ahead of them.

Do you really listen?

When you partner begins to talk about what they are interested in do you really listen? Are you interested in what they are saying and if not are you courteous enough to be interested in them? We have this flaw in our make up that only wants us to be interested in what WE are interested in. While our partner is talking about something they are passionate about we are in our mind wondering what time the game comes on, or how much work we have to do later. We don't really give them the courtesy of listening and trying to enjoy what they are diving into. Listen to your conversations and see if you quickly change the subject as your partner is discussing their topic. Here is a trick I have learned to try and get more involved in what my partner is speaking about. After you partner tells you about something that is of interest to them, ask a question about it. It doesn't have to be a in depth question but it does need to be one that seeks more understanding. Start making it a point to question you partner and get them to give you a little more information before you start talking about your interests. Doing this will not only show your partner that you care but it might just get you a little more understanding as to why they care.

Read something that inspires you.

Reading is one of the best things you can do. Not only for yourself but for your relationship, also. Once a month pick a book that either has something to do with an added area of your relationship or a self help type of book. Not that you have to follow the suggestions of the book word for word or make a complete lifestyle change. However I am sure you can find bits and pieces of the book that you might enjoy in your life. Things like tantric practices, building self esteem, ways to improve conversations, are great ideas when you are searching for books. If you are on a budget you can find older book in bargain bins or Amazon.com has lots of books that basically you purchase for a penny and just pay the shipping and handling on. Click on our amazon side bar and find a book that is just right for you. What I like about amazon is their search feature. Just type in a suggestion and you will soon have thousands of books to choose from. Your library is another option but in my dealings with our local library is that they tend to shy away from books about things having to do with sex, and or relationships issues. If you have lots of friends that read you can even start a book co-op where you all purchase a book then put it into the community for anyone to read after you finish it. By reading different things we keep our minds open to things the might really help our relationship down the line or at the current time. You can either read the book together or apart. If you are reading a book leave it out so that your partner can see what you are reading. This act alone will spark some conversations that might get you both thinking a little differently.

Finding your passions

In life we all want to follow our passions but what about in our relationships? Can we have passions within the safety of our relationship. Can we desire something and still give time and care to our relationship. Well of coarse we can, anyone that would expect you to give up your passions is not worried about your overall well being. Encourage your partner to strive for their goals and dreams this in itself will bring the two of your closer. Think of the joy in your partners face as they achieve their goals, now that is what true love is all about.

Romantic Places!

We want to hear about your most romantic places that you have been. Tell is where and why it was the most romantic trip of your life. Did your partner propose to you there or was it just a great time. We want to find this information out to pass it along to our viewers. Below are a couple of the places I found romantic.

Hawaii - We went to Hawaii about 3 years ago. It is the most beautiful place that I have ever been. There was so much there to see and do. My wife and I rented a car and explored the island of Oahu. We saw many amazing things like the birthing stones, the north shore, many of wonderful beaches. But Probably the kicker for me was Hanauma Bay. We spent the day their snorkeling in the shallow waters it was heaven on earth. Together we spent a week exploring and playing around the island, it really got us reconnected and not that we were out of love but we feel madly in love again. We loved it so much we are planning to move their once our children are out of school, 6 more years and counting.

Cancun Mexico - My second choice because Mexico is where I asked my wife to marry me (and she said yet) but I loved exploring the ancient ruins with her. Chitzen Itza was one of the most romantic places to be the feeling of the people that lived there many years ago mad we gush with romance. It was amazing to see something that well preserved from so long ago. The amazing technology that they used was incredible. The beaches were also amazing and we spend many days at the beach and nights walking along the surf. The ocean for me is very romantic and any where with crystal clear water makes my heart beat a little faster.

Find Some Passion Outside of Your Bedroom

In your relationship we hope that you are experiencing passion in your everyday life as well as your sex life. I think a thing that can help bring you closer as a couple is to find a passion outside of your relationship. NO - not with another person, but with a charitable organization or hobbies. It should be something you can both take pride in and feel good about. Maybe it is organizing a rally to raise money for a charity or just rooting for your local football team. You need to find something that makes you both happy.  Don't settle for your partner's favorite thing. Pick something new and interesting and put some effort into it. You know you have found it when you both come home and ask each other at the same time if you are ready to participate in your function. It is such a rush to get involved with your partner in something you both have passion in. Maybe you could even find something to bring a little money into your relationship.

The Scarlet Letter

You may have had to read the book, The Scarlet Letter, at some point during your school years. If not, here is my brief over view. A woman commits adultery and has to wear a scarlet letter “A” on all her clothes. Mind you, we are not going to confess our sins on our clothing, but we are going to use it to tell our partner what we want. So start searching through your clothes for ones that have letters on them. If you don't have any with letters, then just go buy some cloth or foam letters at your local discount store. You can make variations to this by putting the letters on the headboard or on the mirror in the bathroom. Especially if you want this to remain a secret and not have other people asking why you are wearing letters on your clothes.
Before you pick your first letter you either need to make a master list of what each letter stands for, or slowly add letters to the first one during certain times of the day to spell out what you would like. You could even possibly text the letter using your phone to your partner. A master list could go as follows. D might mean you would like to have a nice DINNER out. W could mean you would like to take a WALK later. S might mean meet me later for SEX or HS could add to the suggestion as HOT SEX. Pick a specific day to try your scarlet letter activity and maybe do it once a month so that each of you gets a turn. Remember we are not branding you for sins here. We are creating ways for you to get what you need out of a relationship.
Relationships are give and take and it is unlikely that anyone truly wants to be on only the giving side. So start planning now what letter you will pick first. Will it be I, E, O, or U? Wait a second - I feel like I am stuck in a version of Wheel of Fortune. Quick buy a vowel and spin again.
One word of caution - make sure each of you knows what the letters stand for. Don't assume that your partner will know what that BJ stands for because you might end up with a BOWL of JELLO.

Aphrodisiac is not someone scared of afro's (Click here to find out more)

An Aphrodisiac is defined as a substance that increases sexual desire. I have seen countless lists of items that people claim increase sexual desire. I must admit I am a little skeptical of these list. I believe that some items might trigger a reaction in people. However I also believe that everyone is different and that their is no master list of aphrodisiacs. I for example cannot stomach oysters yet many people claim that they have magical aphoristically powers. When I eat them I usually end up running to the restroom to spit them out. Again I believe they might work for some people, but for me they do not. So my suggestion to you is to try several things and see what works best for you two. Spicy foods seem to get me a little hot under the collar. Click on the above title line to go to Wikipedia's page on aphrodisiacs, they have a list of herbs and foods that claim to work. Just go down the list and try each one at least the trying part could be fun. Sometimes just a thought put into your mind is enough to trigger a reaction, that could make you a little hot and bothered.

Sharing Your Passions

Sharing your Passions

As you search for an identity as a couple you need to find something that you both can be passionate about. Something you can share and look forward to doing together. I would suggest finding something new for both of you. Your current hobbies are probably already set, and trying to share them might make them a little less appealing For instance, if you have been jogging for years and do about 10 miles each time and you try to get your loved to join you, he/she may not be able to keep up and that would not only dampen your fitness routine, but stress your partner. Explaining every little detail of your hobby to someone who knows nothing about it can get a little intense when you are trying to enjoy it. So the best answer is to find something new to both of you and dive in.

The idea is simple, but the search is on. Trying to find something that appeals to both of you is the challege. Take out some paper and each of you write down some things you always wanted to try or participate in. Do this individually of each other so you are unlikely to "steal" one another's ideas. Once both of you have completed a substantial list, compare the two lists. Look for similar things. Those may not be the exactly the same, but look for similarities so that you can compromise. For example, you might have cycling on your list, while he/she has exercise on his/hers. Ta da! Grab your bikes, and find some trails. His/her list might say he/she would love to try wine tasting, and his/hers might say that he/she would love to just hit the open road and drive. Presto! You hop in the car and fine some wineries (just make sure not to drive while under the influence). I have offered you ways to combine/compromise. This is a great exercise for couples and getting in them mind set of sharing things more.

Here are a couple more examples. He/she would love to work with animals and his/her partner might like to do some voulunteer work. Bing bang, boom. You both find time to voulunteer at the local animal shelter together. Okay I'm gonna one more example. He/she wants to start a blog and his/her partner wants to learn potography. Shazam. You start a blog together. The photography buff takes the pictures while the computer guru posts the comments. Then you sit around and drink coffee and read your blog together. I hope everyone is getting the point. All you have to do is find a way to combine your interests into something you both can enjoy. If you can't find anything else, pick two rival sporting teams and every time they play make it a big deal to heckle each others team - as long as it remains all in fun. Hey you could put a little wager on the game like the loser has to do the dishes for the rest of the week, and of course, you can even get a little naughty with your bet. It's okay after all you are a couple.
