Hey Guys! A Different Way to Stay Interested in Sex After 40

Your Sexual Health Depends on The Condition of Your Body

It is a fact of life that as men get older, they notice physical changes, which can impact performance in the bedroom. They think about sex less often and find their erections not robust as before. In such cases, men are likely to become depressed and believe that the process of aging has caught up with them. Fortunately, they do not have to think so because there are solutions that can improve their sexual health. Let us take a look at some of the common concerns and the best way to restore sexual health.
One of the main reasons why men face issues like these is because after the age of 40, they begin to witness a decline in their testosterone levels. In such conditions, it is normal to see a diminishing interest in sex or loss of libido as well. This is not just a sign of aging but is a problem that is far more serious. There are a number of factors that can lower testosterone levels within the body. Some of them are kidney failure, hormonal disorders, genetic conditions that are natural and type II diabetes. Medications that are taken for conditions of the heart can also bring about changes that will affect an individual.
Another problem, which is commonly encountered, is that of erectile dysfunction. Blood flow into the sexual organs diminishes with age, and people will have to work harder before they find themselves in a position to have sex. This problem is easy to avoid if people care about their bodies in a proper manner. They just have to eat well, stay away from vices and give their body some exercise regularly. Medications are certainly available to deal with this condition, but it would be better for men to follow a natural way to overcome this issue.
A number of treatments have now been devised to deal with the sexual health of men. While there are certainly effective they have the ability to leave behind side effects, which can prove harmful when used for an extended period. Under the circumstances men will do well to look for alternatives that can help them better. Deer Antler Velvet supplements, are today considered as a safe remedy for conditions like these. They require no prescription from a physician and can be purchased locally. Men only have to take two capsules of this supplement every day to rediscover themselves and begin feeling younger all over again. Supplements of deer antler velvet are better than any medications that are provided by the medical fraternity. They just have to be taken regularly to get back the vigor that men feel they have lost.

How Far Would You Go For Your Partner?

**Pulled from the archives...

How Far Would You Go For Your Partner?

Expert Author Janelle Alex, Ph.D.
In February 2011, I was in California at a weeklong seminar. I was to be gone a total of nine days. Rob, my partner and husband, was at home 2300 miles away. Before I left he seemed to be coming down with a nasty cold or some type of flu. Because of my location and my busy schedule it was difficult to call; I usually just texted back and forth with him. When I did speak to him I noticed that this cold/flu "thing" was really taking a toll. On top of that a record-breaking ice storm had hit. My next to last day in California I called home again to talk to him.
My sweet love - a man who never gets sick - was so ill and coughing this strange, high-pitched cough that he could barely talk to me. He and the kids had lost electricity due to the storm so they were staying at my parents'. I hung up from Rob and called my mother's cell. "Mom, does Rob need to go to the hospital?" She informed me that she had tried to get him to go the previous night! She told me that he was so sick he couldn't put his sweatshirt on by himself - she had to help him! I told her to have my father take him to the emergency room immediately. I called Rob's cell again and told him in more than a few choice words that he was going to the hospital right then - no ifs, ands, or buts (maybe I was harsh - but I felt helpless and deeply afraid). Remember, there was an ice storm - inches of ice on the car and extremely treacherous driving conditions. It took over an hour to reach the hospital that is only 10 minutes from my parents' home. My next step was to find a way to get home! Up in the mountains I was an hour's drive from the airport and a seven-hour flight from home - no nonstop flights from my location.
The events that transpired at the airports were challenging to say the least, but I encountered some of the most wonderful people to help me. I was able to make my plane connection with just an hour to spare before they shut down the Houston, TX airport due to snow!! And, I was able to land in Indianapolis on schedule with only two runways open! A close friend picked me up and drove me to the hospital.
The end result was a blood clot in my husband's jugular vein and a developing abscess near his right collarbone. He had to have surgery to drain the abscess and heavy-duty antibiotics. He spent a week in the hospital!! Then, he spent the next month with a picc line in his arm so that he could take powerful antibiotics intravenously at home and six months on blood thinners. The specialists were never able to decide what brought this about. No one knows if the blood clot developed first or the infection - the chicken or the egg?
The point is that we sometimes deal with things in our lives that we never expected. Some of these can pack quite a punch. I am pondering this experience today because I have been thinking about a movie I just watched yesterday. We might not expect great struggle and death defying feats regularly, but others know no different.
In 2005, March of the Penguins was shared with the world. This is a very powerful film. What amazes me the most is not only what these Emperor penguins go through to find a mate and produce offspring, but the loving tenderness they seem to share with one another. These amazing beings of nature travel over 70 miles of ice and snow to return to where they were born. They search through the thousands of penguins until they find a fitting mate. The pair off in cuddled up pairs prior to mating. Once they are blessed with an egg, they must delicately trade it from the mother's feet to the father's feet. In a matter of moments the freezing temperatures, which are on average -72°F, will steal away the life within the egg if they are not successful. The female penguin must return the 70 plus miles to the sea to regain her weight and bring back food for the new little penguin.
As the males protect their precious eggs and wait out the winter for the females' return they huddle together in an effort to stay warm. They take turns being in the center. This grouping of penguins reminds me of the blended spirit Rob and I, as Relationship Guides, talk so often about. These compassionate and loving father's become winter warriors as they blend their energies and spirits to form a mass of continually moving penguin bodies that almost becomes its own being. They go nearly four months without food from when they first started their journey. They are extraordinarily cold and near starving, but they continue to protect and provide for their babies.
Upon the females' return the precarious exchange of baby penguin from one parent's feet to the other parent's feet takes place again - just in reverse this time. Now, the males must make the huge journey to return to the sea and eat before they surrender to death due to lack of food. The mother penguins remain with their babies protecting them and feeding them. It will be a couple more months before the females leave the baby penguins alone and return as well. Eventually, the little penguins are big enough to make their own journey to the sea and the cycle continues.
Throughout this dangerous journey every year some, both adults and babies, succumb to the cold or the lack of food. Sadly, some of the babies don't live long enough to even meet their mothers. To live life, to continue existence they must risk it all time and time again.
I ask you - would you travel over 70 miles in devastatingly cold temperatures to find a mate and create new life? Would you be willing to entrust this tenuous new life with your partner? Okay, this scenario might be extreme. I mean, after all, you aren't a penguin - right?
Instead, I ask you to consider:
• How far you would go for your partner?
• Even more importantly, do you consider the little things you do for each other?
• Do you appreciate him/her?
• Are you grateful for the little things let alone the big things?
• Would you drop everything and be there if your partner really needed you to?
Maybe you won't have to worry about a major event, a frightening event or miles and miles of snow and ice, but think about how important it is to be there for your partner everyday. Sometimes we just need to stop and listen - really listen to what he/she is saying. We don't necessarily need to do anything other than just being present, perhaps giving a hug or offering a shoulder.
Loving another and blending your spirit with another is a beautiful experience. And, it can help you weather any storm.

Being Fit Will Make Your Sex Life Happier

Stay Healthy and Enjoy a Happy Sex Life

Expert Author Karen Ficarelli
Women's fitness and healthy living can offer many benefits for your physical and mental health. But did you know that a healthy lifestyle may be the key to promoting a happy sex life? The better you feel physically the more likely it is that you will be healthy enough for sex. Building your muscles, especially your pelvic floor muscles actually helps to improve the functions of your sexual organs.
Nutrition is nature's medicine. Begin with a healthy diet of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, proteins and healthy fats. Overeating, especially foods that are high in saturated fats, leads to high blood cholesterol and obesity, both major causes of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. This can mean your body is not healthy enough for sex.
Sex is good for you. When women's estrogen levels drop at menopause, the vaginal walls lose some of their elasticity. It's possible to slow this process or even reverse it through sexual activity. Sex is your vagina's women's fitness program.
Exercise promotes healthy sex: Regular aerobic activity, Pilates, Yoga and strength training exercises all promote women's fitness and may help to improve your sex life. Exercise helps the cardio system and aids in flexibility and stamina to help you enjoy better sex for a longer time.
If your sex life is still lacking, you might try these helpful hints:
Get out of the bedroom. Maybe you've never had sex on the kitchen floor or in a secluded spot in the woods; now might be the time to try it. Or try exploring erotic books and films. Even just the feeling of naughtiness you get from checking out an X-rated movie at the local video store might make you feel frisky.
Sensuality counts. Create an environment for lovemaking that appeals to all five of your senses. Light scented candles, cover your bed with silk or satin for a sensual touch. Play music that you both enjoy, buy flowers and place in a lovely vase. Make your bedroom a special place to make love.
Be playful. Take a bubble bath together or even a shower. Being wet and naked together is a great lead-in to sex. Wash each other's backs. Tickle. Laugh. Enjoy.
Let your imagination soar. Be creative by varying your activity. For example, if you're used to making love on Saturday morning, choose Sunday morning instead. Have sex in the middle of the week. Be open to different positions and new activities. Try sex toys and purchase sexy lingerie.
Be romantic. Surprise each other with flowers when it isn't a special occasion. Plan a day when all you do is lie in bed, talk, and be intimate. Leave sweet messages on each other's cell phones. Tell your lover how special he is and how much you love him.

Expert Author Linda Scheifer
Are you looking for proven effective sex advice for woman? Wondering what are the best ways to keep up your sexual health? There are many magazines or books for women out there that help and tell you how to be healthy through the use of exercise and diet.
There are diets available for just about any health issue. How often, however, do you see anything that helps you maintain sexual health? Let's look at ten better sex guidance for women to remain sexy and keep up sexual activity.
Sex Advice No: 1.
So what is the first and foremost sex commendation for woman? Utilize fantasy with your partner in order to keep the sex drive alive! Indulge in fantasy even if you don't have a sexual partner. Women who stop thinking about sex have trouble starting again.
Sex Advice No: 2.
Pleasure yourself in order to stay in shape sexually. Many women would have a better chance of having an orgasm with her partner if she practices more often by herself. Don't forget woman sexual guidance books and sexual toys.
Sex Advice No: 3.
Make sure your method of birth control fits with your style. If you're having sex frequently, condoms might not be your best choice as they have a higher failure rate. Talk to your doctor about your birth control options for better sex recommendation.
Sex Advice No: 4.
Do Kegel exercises. These strengthen the pelvic floor, which help your bladder stay up and your uterus and vagina to be stronger. It can also help a woman have a better and stronger orgasm.
Sex Advice No: 5.
Use glycerin-free lubricant. Glycerin is too much like sugar and breeds yeast infections in women who are prone to them. You can find them in the drug store. Just read the label.
Sex Advice No: 6.
One of the most essential recommendation for woman is to... watch female hormones. Hormones can be over- or under-used by women, especially around menopause. You should use the lowest dose of hemorrhoids that control the uncomfortable symptoms of menopause.
Use it also for the briefest period of time. Hormones may have positive cognitive benefits but if used in large quantity and for too long, you can cause more harm than good.
Sex Advice No: 7.
Remain healthy. There are many chronic illnesses that have sexual side effects, including women with diabetes, who can get nerve damage or vaginal dryness. Such women can have problems getting an orgasm due to the nerve damage. You can also stay sexy longer if you keep exercising and keep your weight down.
Sex Advice No: 8.
Practice experimentation is a vital sex suggestion for women who want greater sex fulfillment experience. Try using an ice cube on your lover or let your lover drink wine directly from your lips. Have sex blindfolded or tie your lover up with crepe paper. Buy a costume on the internet that is sexy and fun.
Sex Advice No: 9.
Don't forget about safe sex. Things like genital herpes or Chlamydia can really put a damper on the passion of a weekend with your lover. Use condoms every time you have sex.
Sex Advice No: 10.
Take care of your genitals. Be wary of anything that could cause harm, such as the G spot shots some doctors' recommend. They are unnecessary and aren't proven. Instead read a woman sexual recommendation book about the g spot and try to stimulate in manually.
Lastly, the critical sex advice for woman is to make sure keeping up your sexual health is as important so long as you want to have a good and active sex life for a long time. Sex is a great gift you'll want to keep for years to come, if you know the ways to take care of yourself.

Love can heal.

Love is one of the most powerful things in our lives. It gives us strength and power to do things we never thought we would be able, too. Yet we constantly doubt it's power. I have recently be studying Huna, which is a way of living the Hawaiian culture teaches, and it has shown me even more how important love is to our daily life. Love is the feeling that someone is there to catch you and make you feel better. Which leads me to or subject for today. Love, can it heal? We know it is a wonderful feeling but can it make your health better? Yes is the answer. Studies show that people who claim to be in love actually live longer than those that don't. Love is a great reliever of stress, and you have someone to vent your anger with. Now your stress level is lower. We can see the long terms of love quite easily, together we are stronger. How about a quick healing can love cure illnesses right away. Is there the power to cure cancer or heat problems in our love? I say that if you truly believe so with out a doubt that yes love can heal those challenges. The problems lies in that we are taught that this doesn't work. We fall into societies ignorance that you don't need love and that love is an desire not a need. Well my friends I don't know about you but love is more than a desire to me. It roots deep in my soul and I can feel it's power. Now trying to find a way to use that love power to heal the ill is another challenge. For starters that person has to believe in the power to or their body will reject your love like it rejects or tries to fight off viruses. I like to think of love like water let it flow through both of you and cleanse the challenged area diluting and disputing the challengers hold on the ill persons body. Hold each other and imagine water rushing though both of your bodies let the passion you hold for each other take over and speak no words. I am not knocking modern medicine and I feel it is also very powerful but I think for someone to truly get well they need this love cleanse to coarse through their body. Now we all know that we cannot live forever that is not an option but to extend the time you are together to love each other, now that my friends is a miracle. Each and every extra minute you can get is a blessing, just ask someone that has lost a love.

Push each other to be healthier.

One of the greatest things you can do for you partner is to push them to be healthier. No body is with them more and sees the things that they do and eat more then you do. When you go out to eat the two of you can search the menu for healthy choices that fit your needs and desires. You are also there to push them to complete their exercise tasks. With this support form the person they love the most it is sure to be the encouragement they need to keep with this new regiment. With all that in mind, the best thing you can do is lead by example. Don't be the partner that says to not eat that piece of chocolate cake then later they find out you ate it. Be the strength in your relationship and be the rock in the healthy factor, also. Encourage them by telling them how much more sexy they look by doing the exercises and eating better. That type of encouragement will most likely get anyone off the couch and on the exercise bike. Heck make it a contest each week to see who can do the best then the winner can pick the movie you go see on date night, or the winners gets a new item of clothing. What ever the incentive, make sure that you are having fun with it and it gets your mind set on being healthier.

Sexual Wonder Drug - W-A-T-E-R-

I just currently found out how important water is to our sexual health. From helping to create lubrication to the fluids we release during orgasm. Not to mention the importance of it for the activity of sex itself and to keep us hydrated during the motions. Obviously water is essential to our everyday life but water can also help your sexual stamina and can even help in getting you in the mood. The article I read suggested you treat your sexual experiences like an exercise. Drinking plenty of water before and after the intimacy. This is claimed to help you enjoy your sex better as well as help you rejuvenate faster to give you a chance at that second and third try during the evening. Encourage your parter to partake of the water consumption also and see how it effects your sex life. Our bodies are built to enjoy sexual activities and when you add water into the mix you can enjoy sex a whole lot more.

The Waterboy, staring Adam Sandler now takes on a whole new meaning!!!!

Men be healthy and smile a lot.

I just read and interesting stat from The Journal of the American Medical Association that states to lower the risk of prostate cancer men should ejaculate 21 times or more a month. Wow, that is an amazing number of times in most months you would have to ejaculate every 1.3 days. I am sure that most of you guys out there will not approach your partner and suggest that you have sex 21 times a month. It would be great if that would work but it sounds like their might be some solo work involved in this health improvement. Gentlemen you might think this is over the top but if you have known anyone that has had prostrate troubles you might be a little wiser. For starters it feels good to ejaculate and it can be fun alone or with a partner so what is the problem. After all now it is a matter of health.

Prostate health is important and if you have issues with the traditional means of stimulating the prostate gland, there is a procedure called milking the prostate that requires rear entry but achieves the same results.

Depriving yourself a little make everything a little better when you get it.

Depriving yourself of the wonders of life sometimes make them that much better when you finally do get to indulge in them. Take for instance deserts, they are not that great for you but if you partake of them all the time you get fat. However if you go without them for a period of time they taste so much better, when you finally get them. Sex can be the same for you. Think about it if you had sex every single day it might not be as special. Don't get me wrong I am not telling anyone to go even more then a week without sex. Sometimes, however a couple of days of rest helps you build up and be ready to go longer and stronger then ever. The next time you make love wait about 3 days before enjoying it again and see how anxious you get while you are waiting. Now to make this work right make sure not to masturbate either so you get a total build up that is ready to release. I know from my personal experience that if I put a little buffer in their the night I finally do get to have sex again I can usually perform way better and more often. Plus if you let that sexual tension build up a little the release seems to be way more amazing. Again let me reiterate that I don't believe that you should wait to long because sex is great for your health and mental state.

How do we workout?

When you exercise do you do it together or apart? Well the readers of The Couple Spot seem to enjoy working out together. Most of our viewers either worked out with their partner on a regular basis or at least part of the time they worked out. Very few of our members stated that the would never work out with their partner. Getting it shape should be part of your life and since your partner is part of your life also it only makes sense to work out together. After all you both want to live a long time, together.

The Correct way to get your partner in Shape.

Many of us unfortunately don't take the best care of ourselves. This makes no sense, for starters you need to be in good shape to make yourself feel better and by feeling better you increase the quality of your life. Not to mention you get little extra perks, like your partner thinking your hot as you work out or that you can fit in the small seat the others can't. Now how do you handle the problem if your partner is the one out of shape and you don't want to offend them but you want them to improve their health.

Well here is my suggestion. Encourage them to do any type of physical activity to start out with. Get them to go on walks with you or encourage them to go play golf with the guys. Anything that will get them up and moving is a start. Then start offering suggestions on things you would like to start doing such as bike riding, jogging, and or aerobics. See if you can get them to join in. Offer incentives if they balk, tell them you don't want to do it alone and if they care about you they will reluctantly say yes. Bribe them with sex, or they get to pick the next movie you rent. Once they get up and going you have done your part, now all you have to do is keep it up and don't stop. Set a routine so they get to understand that say Monday is the day we do aerobics together. Don't take no for an answer if they balk keep on them it could be a matter of life or death.

Survey Results

Recently we conducted a survey on how often our viewers made love. We guessed pretty good on the outcome but were a little surprise at something. Sixty percent of The Couples Spot Viewers made love 2-3 times per week. This fit pretty well with the national percentage and I feel is a pretty good number to aim for in any relationship. Now what surprised me was that thirty percent of our viewers checked the "What is Sex" button. Meaning that they had sex less then once a month. This is a little disturbing, I can understand having months with dry spells but to constantly have this lack of sex in your life doesn't make much sense. Read some of our earlier posts on the advantages and health benefits of sex. We had a percentage of five for both of the once a week answer and the five or more times a week answer. We here at The Couples Spot feel these numbers are pretty accurate with the national percentages. We are concerned that maybe more people then we know need a boost in the sexual department within their relationships. So we will still be here giving as much advice as we can to hopefully get those "What is Sex" people back on the right track.

Let's Dance (Click here to learn more about the health benifits of dance.)

When is the last time the two of you went dancing. Well I know, my wife and I have all the excusses. We can't find a sitter, we don't want to be out late, we don't like the bar scene, we could go on and on. Well you don't have to go out to dance. Today I want you to take this challenge. When you and your partner are together tonight put on some of your favorite music and get up and dance. The type of dance doesn't matter if you are a silly couple dance like a monkey, if your a couple well trained in the dance do a tango, but no matter what for you last dance make it a slow one. Pick a song where you can slow dance and get closes and just sway together. This makes the heart swoon.
