Does Your Partner Feel Special?

What have you done today to make your partner feel special?

Each day you should wake up and find a way to make your partner feel special.  It could be as simple as leaving a note saying, "I Love You"  You don't have to break the bank to make them feel special.  Just think about what your partner like and make sure they get to experience it.  You might just be amazed at home much it will start to make your relationship better.

To listen is a marvelous gift. but don't forget about the one listening.

Sometimes we get way to one sided in our relationship. We feel that our feelings are the only ones that matter. When we get in that shape sometimes we forget about our partner and their goings on. When we have a major event happen in our life we tend to shut down and worry about that leaving our partner out in the cold. The love doesn't stop we just focus on ourself a this point. This however can make our partner feel not important or like they come after all the other crap that is going on. When you find yourself in this spot take a moment and remind yourself that the person helping you get through all these troubles deserves to be appreciated also. Just the acknowledgement of them is better than nothing but to really make it up to them dedicate a day to them. Reminding them that they are special for helping you deal with your troubles. The last thing you want is your partner feeling like they are less important than you dealing with the problems in our lives. Make sure you partner knows how much you love the fact they are helping you deal with your life.

The times are right for getting closer to your partner.

We all love our partners or most likely you wouldn't be looking at this blog. The love and passion are the foundations of our relationship. However if you are reading this I am going to tell you the time is right for you to make a deeper connection. I want you relationship to turn spiritual, also. You might be thinking how in the heck can we do that. It is easier than you think. My partner and I have recently connected in a much higher plane and it has helped our relationship in this plane tremendously. Things you can do to start this process are simple and to say the least interesting. Start meditating together spend some quite time back to back clearing your minds. You could also use the lovers breath from the tantric practice to achieve the same affect. One partner sits in the other lap as both of you have your legs folded and then you breath in each others breath with your eyes closed. Another great way to achieve this special closeness is to start studying a spiritual practices such as Huna, Tantric, or The Toaist principles. You will soon start to converse about this which will get you both more in tune with each other. Gaining understanding of this nature will help you understand your relationship much much better and that benefits both of you.

Changing your words can change the mood.

Sometimes the words you speak don't truly tell the story of what you mean to say. Our partners hear different things as we speak because of the words we choose or the tone we use when we say them. For example, I can say "Let's have sex" and it sounds like I just want to get my enjoyment and I don't care about my partner. However if I rephrase that to "Would you like to be intimate tonight?" I have now changed it to a question allowing my partner a chance to respond unlike the order in the first statement. The second statement has also been softened up and sounds more attractive to both partners. Putting things into questions is a great way to avoid conflict because other wise it sounds like an demand and not a caring wonder. You should take this approach in all your manners of dealing with your partner. "Honey, could you please take out the trash" is going to get a much better reaction then "Would it kill you to take out the trash" Make sure you use softer tones when dealing with your love this expresses a compassion for them that everyone loves. Try it by using the same statement but then softening your voice and saying it again. Use for example "Pass the butter" now say it in a more quite tone and softer. See the difference. Sometimes just the tone comes out all wrong. So now start thinking about the words you speak and start putting different words and questions as well as a softer tone into them and see how your partner responds. This could be very good for you.

You know you look good when you do good deeds.

You know there is something special about a persona as they are doing a good deed. Maybe they are rescuing a kitten or helping a child tie their shoe. These actions give you an aura of attractiveness that anyone in tune with you. So if you want to catch the eye of your partner stop trying to impress him/her and start helping the world.

Let you partner know you are talking good about them.

You won't believe what my husband did....

We all are curious about how are partner talks about us when they are not around us. We wonder to they bash us and only tell their friends about the not so good things we do. Could be possible that they are speaking like we are a saint? There is no way to tell for sure unless you overhear a conversation and hard as it is that is eavesdropping and isn't right. This is where we can tell our partner when we talk good about them. Let them know that you told your girlfriends how romantic they are or when you tell the guys how you have the best partner in the world. Tell them specifics like, "The other day the girls went nuts when I showed them the note you left me when you went on your trip" or "All the guys are so jealous of me because I told them about you sitting up that special trip to the ballpark for me" We so often have an vision of your partner belittling us because that is what we see on television. Another good reason to pitch the television. The programs and talk shows are full of people talking about the terrible things their lovers do. Maybe we should start a show called "How great my lover is" that lets people talk about the good in their relationship. No fights just proud partners expressing how wonderful their partner is. Now I might watch that show to pick up some extra wonderful things to do. Go a step farther and ask you friends when they are bashing their mate, "Does you partner do anything that pleases you?" Get them searching their mind for positive things and you might just chance a persons whole day.

Full of Anniversaries

Well today as I am writing it is my 8Th anniversary with my partner. I have been blessed with a wonderful person that I am spending my life with. Just like all couples we have our problems and it isn't always a bed of roses. However the wonderful times by far outweigh the not so good times. I think back to all those great times we have had like the day we were married, the birth of our son, and how we have overcome struggles. Yet, as I reminisce about our memories the ones that make me smile are the little things we do together. The times we act silly together, like when we stay up asking each other silly questions, or just touching each other as we sleep. Those things are so small but so important to me. I also love it when we watch a movie and then quote lines to each other during the following days, and we are the only ones that have a clue to what we are talking about. There are so many simple little things that make our relationship special that it would be impossible to list them all. My point to you is, don't over look the little things we you are evaluating your relationship. The simple little things sure to add up when you are in love. In closing I would just like to tell my partner that she is the most amazing woman, and I am more in love with her today then the day we were married. XOXOXOX

I also want to pat myself on the back because yesterday's post was our 500th. I hope we are helping to improve your relationship. To me a good relationship is the building block for not only your life together but everything that touches our lives.

Have you been neglecting your partner?

Sometimes we get so wrapped up in what we are personally doing that we forget about the person that means so much to us. We run out of time to enjoy his/her company or we are just to tired, once we get all the things done for ourselves. While he/she tries to understand they just don't get it and although we want to have that time we are just to drained. When this happens it is your responsibility to make it up to your partner. Sure it is not a requirement, but if you love that person you really need to go out of your way to show them. The words, "I Love You" don't hold a lot of merit if the actions don't mirror them. So, when you notice that you are blowing your partner off a little it is time to spring into action. Set up something special for them. A candle light dinner, a night on the town, or just a romantic intimate evening at home. Believe me your partner understands that you sometimes get worn out and don't have the energy for your relationship. That doesn't mean you shouldn't make it up to them take some time to put as much effort into your relationship as you do everything else. You will soon find that the return on that investment of time is worth much more than anything else you are doing. Love can conquer all you just have to give it a chance.

...and the Holiday is!

Want to have a special day? Why not create your own special holiday. Declare you holiday early in the day so your partner has time to react to the holiday. Send you partner a text or email expressing the holiday and see what kind of reaction you get from them. These self proclaimed holidays can be romantic or even help get chores done. Some examples might be, "National Paint the Garage Day", "Pizza and Movie Night", or "National Try a New Sexual Position Day" Make your holiday crazy and out of the normal. Encourage you partner to make up the next crazy holiday then make it a special event between the two of you. I personally like this one "National Massage Your Partner, Turn the Light Down, and Make Passionate Love Day" I am going to try to get this one through congress.

Wear Underwear the accents your features.

Unless your a model the only person the probably sees your underwear is your partner. That doesn't mean you shouldn't be active in picking underwear that makes helps you look sexy. I hear so much from people that they don't understand why their partner wears nice underwear to work but then at home wears things that are a little more, well unsexy. Tighty Whities, Granny panties, or just old tattered underwear are just a few that pop into my mind. Next time you know that your partner will see you in your underwear give them a show. Parade around in front of them with some sexy Victoria Secret special panties or a thong are bound to gain attention of your partner. Men make sure the underwear you select accents your manhood well. You can even give it a little rubbing to draw more attention to it. With any luck your partner will be overcome with passion and quickly want to explore your underpants a little more.

Lips Like Sugar

Lips like sugar can mean so many things. It can mean that your lover kisses are as sweet as candy or it can mean that when you perform oral sex on a woman that her lips are juicy and sweet. I first heard the term in a song by Echo and the Bunnymen when I was in high school many years ago. Violet Blue used the term as a title of one of her books about women's erotica (Which you can find by clicking the title of this post) Whatever the meaning is to you make sure to use this this little statement to describe your partners lips sometimes. Right after a passionate kiss is a great time to say "Your lips are like Sugar" Get into a habit of comparing your partner to wonderful thing and use similes and metaphors to express your ideas. Much like poems your words can make someone feel great, so don't delay start today.

Now enjoy a little bit of my youth with the video from Echo and the Bunnymen.

Be straight forward with what you want in the bedroom.

It is far to common for people to keep their desires locked away from everyone, and that is okay if you are hiding them from the general public. However if you are in a great relationship with someone you really care about then you need to cue them into your desires. It might be a little nerve racking to tell someone this important to you that you want something a little different in the bedroom, but believe me they are probably feeling the same way. Open up those lines of communication however don't be afraid to say if you are uncomfortable with the suggestion they give. I think you will be pleasantly surprise at the reactions you get to expressing your desires. We all have curiosities and want to experience new things and what better way to do that then to experiment a little in the bedroom. Make sure that if your partner opens up to you with a desire they have that you respond in the correct way. Consider anything that they say, but again don't be afraid to say no if you are totally uncomfortable with it. When you partner opens up to you in the manner make sure you respond with a request of your own, basically trade desires with each other. You know the old saying one hand washes the other, well one hand can role play while they other ties you up, too. Research the request together and makes sure you know all precautions that you might need to perform the request. Sex is an important part of any long term relationship, and spicing it up never hurts it's importance. Now, take a deep breath and tell you partner your desires, this will set the tone for a great relationship where communication is your best friend.

Financial Troubles

One of the biggest problems in relationships today is financial troubles. Not only do they weigh on the individual but they can really put a stress on your relationship. However, there is no time like the present to do something about your financial crisis before it ends up hurting your relationship. Most people will get angry at their partner when discussing this matters as you feel it is all the other persons fault. If you look at it however if you are in a committed relationship it is the couples fault. Once you get past that hurdle you can both sit down and start to hash out a plan to get you out of this mess. You might need to get more help and hire a financial consultant that can give you insight into how to address situations. Set a budget and stick to it make it a game you can even reward your partner with things such as massages, special dinners or even sex if they help to get the two of you out of debt. Most couples have gone through tough time you are not the first and will not be the last, you focus should be one correcting the situation instead of blaming anything. Amazon has a wide selection of books on the topic of getting finances back in order and you can click on the bar at the side to take you there in a hurry.

Other uses for Lotion (Men this is directed at you)

With the cold winter weather we are having right now one thing you need to do is keep your skin soft. Rough hands are ones that no one wants to hold or get touched by. Men if you are the type of guy who's hands get rough during these months it is time to use that lotion in the bathroom for something other then what you normally use it for! Make it a point to lotion your dry hands every time you get out of the shower. Anytime you go to the bathroom and wash your hands apply another dose of this wonder. Soon you will start to feel that your hands are getting soft and less abrasive. This makes massaging your partner much much better, not only for you but for them also. No longer will you snag your dry skin on their clothes or make them shy away when you try to touch them. Now more than ever they will enjoy your hands on their naked body. Plus it is better for the other use of the lotion also (wink wink) Now go out and get those hand soft and ready.

Learn to Juggle

If there is one thing you need to learn to do being in a relationship it is to juggle? Not balls or chainsaws but your schedule. Once you commit to a relationship the giving and taking begin. You now have to find time to fit things in your schedule that you might not have had to before you feel in love. The big one is spending time with your partner, this consumes a good portion of your waking and non working hours. This is when you have to start juggling the thing you would have normally done before you were in this relationship. Things like going out with friends, playing golf, going shopping just to name a few. These things might have to be combined with time spend with your partner to get them all in. One of the things I find challenging in a relationship is your time spent watching television. I don't watch a lot but there are a few things I love to view, the problem lies in juggling this. For instance on Monday night I like to watch the monday night football game while my partners favorite show is on at the same time, sounds like a problem, huh? Well here is where we both juggle, my football game usually last longer than her show so we watch hers but on commercials we flip to the game to watch a few minutes here and there and check the score. Once her show is over she sits and watches the rest of the football game with me. The problem isn't solved but it has be juggled to make the best of the situation. Now maybe you understand why I think being able to juggle is important in a relationship.

Getting back to Life.

December 26th the day after Christmas and it is time to start getting your life back to normal. The last few weeks you have probably spend shopping and cooking for the holidays and now that the big day is over you should have more time to relax or get things done you have been meaning to do. Don't you wish that Christmas could last all year long at least the feeling of it. To capture this feeling of Christmas a little longer as you start to take down all you decorations make an event of it like you do setting them up. Plan a date to take down the decorations, maybe new years day, and make a little celebration of it play Christmas music, make a special meal to enjoy packing away your Christmas things. Spend the day being with the person you love and if you think about it hold back a Christmas present to give them after all the decorations are put away and stored. By doing this and making a celebration of it we are trying to keep that feeling of Christmas inside our relationship for the entire year. If everyone was as compassionate and caring as they are during the holidays we would see a huge difference in the world around us. As a couple however the main focus you want to put into this is that special feeling you get from being with your partner during the holidays. How did you react when you got your favorite gift? Shouldn't we be that happy with our partner all the year long, when they do the little things like take out the trash or do the dishes. Sometimes we forget how truly special the person we are with is, Christmas helps remind us of that, but why should we wait until Christmas to reward them?

Click this post title to find some great tips on storing your Christmas decorations.

Turn Christmas into a how well do you know me event.

Christmas is a great time to test your knowledge of your partner. If you listen closely through the year you will have all the knowledge you need to pick out presents for your partner. Everytime during the year that your partner might mention something they would like to have or points something out to you in a store you need to make a note of it. I don't mean a mental note, write it down with a piece of paper or file it on your computer. Make note of the time and day to jog their memory if they don't remember asking for it. This gets you in the habit of listening for little clues that your partner puts out. Not only will this make your partners Christmas special but it will make your relationship wonderful too.

Adjusting Schedules

It would be nice if everything worked out perfectly each and every day, but only in fantasy land does that happen. In real life kids and adults get sick, cars break down, supper burns and millions of other things can happen each and every day. Being a successful couple means that you are well ready to adjust to these changes and challenges that happen each and every day. There are times, where you have to rely on your partner for the adjustments to the changes but it needs to be a 50-50 split on these overall. You can't expect you partner to always stay home with the sick child nor can you expect you partner to miss an important day of work. Balance is what you need and by inspecting and analysing the situations as the arise and seeing which of the two of you is better able to handle the challenge. Once you begin looking at these things as they happen you will be able to take them in stride without even seeming like they disrupt your day. This is just one of the great ways that being a couple is an amazing thing and why most people want to be part of a great relationship.

Moods Swings... they happen.

You know how everything is going along great and then something happens to change your partners mood. They go from being a calm loving person to a cold and harsh person. We as their partner have to understand that they cannot possibly be in a good mood all the time and these things will happen from time to time. What we need to watch is how often they are happening. If it is a daily occurrence or a lot more often then normal, we might need to do some digging. Think of things outside the house that might not be seen by you. Things that are going on a work seem to be a big cause of this discomfort in your partner. They so often want to shelter us from their problems at work, as they feel it is not our problem. When this happen you need to put your listening skills to the test. Don't offer suggestions or ways they can correct the problem unless they ask you. Listen and listen some more, most likely getting things out in the open and off their chest will help as much as anything. The last thing you want to do is try to correct them during this time as then they feel you are against them, too. The best help you can be with these problems that swing your partners mood is to listen and be the shoulder to lean on. Sure sometimes you just want your happy person back but to get them back you need to help them get through whatever is bothering them.
