Full of Anniversaries

Well today as I am writing it is my 8Th anniversary with my partner. I have been blessed with a wonderful person that I am spending my life with. Just like all couples we have our problems and it isn't always a bed of roses. However the wonderful times by far outweigh the not so good times. I think back to all those great times we have had like the day we were married, the birth of our son, and how we have overcome struggles. Yet, as I reminisce about our memories the ones that make me smile are the little things we do together. The times we act silly together, like when we stay up asking each other silly questions, or just touching each other as we sleep. Those things are so small but so important to me. I also love it when we watch a movie and then quote lines to each other during the following days, and we are the only ones that have a clue to what we are talking about. There are so many simple little things that make our relationship special that it would be impossible to list them all. My point to you is, don't over look the little things we you are evaluating your relationship. The simple little things sure to add up when you are in love. In closing I would just like to tell my partner that she is the most amazing woman, and I am more in love with her today then the day we were married. XOXOXOX

I also want to pat myself on the back because yesterday's post was our 500th. I hope we are helping to improve your relationship. To me a good relationship is the building block for not only your life together but everything that touches our lives.

Bored? Why not play the old fashioned game of Strip Poker!

Strip Poker has been around for years and years. However, playing a game with your partner that gets you both naked never goes out of style. Find a nice secluded place in your house at a time when you won't get interrupted and have at it. You might ask what you do if one of the two of you doesn't know how to play poker? Well first of all that is good news for the person that does know. If you want to keep it fair however pick a different game and work out a way to get naked playing it. Monopoly for example you could pick a square like community chest where instead of paying you have to remove one piece of clothing. No matter what game you like to play their is a strip version of it. Just get your creative juices flowing and figure it out. Make sure to send me you stories on which game you played and how you worked the stripping part into the game. I would love to hear about them and pass them along to our viewers. Heck tic tac toe can now become tic tac oHHHHHHH.

Driving and Talking.

One of the best things you can do to to improve the communication in your relationship is to turn off the radio while you are driving. Make it a point to converse during any drive that you take, especially the longer ones. It might be easy to turn on the radio and zone out but where does that get you. Pick some topics before you leave to discuss, avoid things with a personal feel, like your children, bills, work etc. Pick something out of the news and discuss your feelings on it. You might find that you take the longer way to get more discussion time.

Your Relationship is part of all you do.

Once your a couple one thing you need to come to grips with is that your relationship is no longer yours or mine it is ours. This is a hard fact to grasp for most people, gone are the times that you only think about yourself. No longer can you just stay out all night with out letting someone know, and this is not because you have to but it is out of respect. You now have someone in your life that is worried about you. This person cares about you and to just not come home without letting them know is a terrible thing to put them through. No you do not have to run everything you do by them but you need to show respect when things are going to make you stray from your routine. This goes for both men and women, if you are going to stop at the bar for some drinks with your friends a call is important. Building trust is an important part of a relationship but keeping your partner in the dark can destroy that trust in a matter of minutes. Relationships are a commitment but they are not designed to be a jail term. Have your fun, just make sure your partner has an idea of what is going on.

Lets gain some trust today.

Trust is an important part of any relationship. We understand that and when trust becomes an issue relationships seem to crumble. So today I suggest you try a trust building exercise. I want you to do one of your normal chores at home with a twist. I want you and your partner to do it together with the person that normally does the chore blindfolded. The other partner is to without touching you lead you through the chore by giving you instructions. Sounds difficult huh? Well with some practice you will gain trust in listening to your partner. I am sure a first you will think "I can do this blindfolded by myself, I've done it so many times" I am sure you will quickly find out you will need your partners help. Ah here lies the trust building. After you complete your task then it is time to reverse the situation. Now go find a chore you partner usually completes and you guide them.

This exercise will build trust and as an added bonus helps build team work in your relationship. Understand however your chores will take a little longer today. So don't get upset and make sure to laugh at the mistakes that happen. End the session with a thank you to your partner and a big kiss.
