Hugs are not only fun they are important.

Touch is a wonderful thing that most all of us love. However it is not only an enjoyment it is a basic human need. Starting from the time we are born we crave and love touch. It tells us we are love, consoles us when we are upset and gives us a sense of desire and passion. Hugs have actually been shown to improve our lives. In the book THE ALADDIN FACTOR, it states that 4 hugs a day are needed for survival, 8 hugs a day to keep our relationship in tip top shape, and 12 hugs a day for our lives to grow and thrive. So stop being selfish with your hugs and don't stop with your partner make sure you children and family share the sensation also. Hugs are not as intimate as kisses so you can give them to friends and even strangers without fear of being weird. Everyone benefits from hugs so spread the hugs around and make sure to get your share.

Exercise, eating right, .....

We put so much time working out, trying to eat right and protecting our bodies. How much time do you put in protecting your relationship? Do you read new books on improving your relationship do you watch videos that promote building your relationship? Why not? We understand that everything we want in life we have to work for. Our house, our car, a lean body, good health but yet we just expect our relationships to fall into place. Not only do we expect them to fall into place but we also expect them to be wonderful and great. Well if you just sat around on the couch wanting to get in better shape, would it happen? No, you have to work at it, so just like with exercise stop procrastinating and get your butt up and start working on your relationship. Pick up some books, read articles, search the internet for anything that will put more value in your relationship. Just like with exercising your body you don't get results fast but over time you will gradually start seeing improvement in your relationship and you partner will also.

Reevaluate your relationship from time to time.

From time to time we need to take a good look at our relationship. Not to decide if we need to be in it or not. We need to look at it to see what we can do to make it better. Step back and really look for things that the both of you feel would make your relationship better. Maybe looking for a new job, buying a house, spending more time together, or having a child would move your relationship into the next level. We all get comfortable and want everything to stay status quo but this just give your relationship the blahs. Never trying or striving for something new and improved only locks you into the feeling your relationship is boring. This is not a decision you should make alone this one has to be a joint effort. If only one of you decides your relationship needs a major overhaul, you might meet with some pretty tough resistance. Deciding together will help bring you closer and help you meet this goal you are sitting for your relationship. Maybe you want to go on dates more, or get a grip on your finances no matter what you want to improve the battle will be won faster when both of you are working together. Sit down together, today and make notes on things you both want to improve on and then pick one and both of you focus on it until you start to see it improving. After that go to the next item on your list, by continuing to improve your relationship all the time you are sitting yourselves up for a life long relationship of epic nature.

Quit making excuses.

Today is the day to start leaving the excuses behind. This goes for everything from your relationship, your future, your parenting, to your sex life. Stop hiding behind those excuses that you have build into your defense system. No more fears, sickness, whining, all you need is a boost of confidence. Here is a stat that got me off my butt and got me moving on my blogs and writing, most people fail at what they are doing, the success stories are about 1 in 1000. My feeling is if I try 1000 things then one of them will work and put me over the top. This goes for all your relationship need also. Most people will give up right before they get to that one thing that changes everything. I feel that this is the case in most divorces, that these people are just on the edge of getting into their groove when they decide it's not worth it. This is my message to your don't give up so easy, as long as there is no abuse or anything else that would put you in danger. Put forth the best effort you can at building the best relationship you can. Stop doing those things that are harming you relationship. Lower you defenses and replace them with effort. Go get counseling if you need it, suck it up. If sex is your problem make a commitment to start putting more effort into finding what works for the two of you. If you don't thing your parenting skills are as good as they could be then get your ass out their and read parenting books or scour the internet and find the information you need to make yourself the best parent you can be. Here is the secret to overcoming every problem that faces you in a relationship, are you ready? "Never stop trying to improve"

New Years Resolutions

It is that time of year where we all start making our New Years resolutions. Most of us will be hoping to lose weight, get a new job, be better parents, etc. However this year you should also make a resolution to improve your relationship, no matter what shape it is in. There is always room for improvement. Maybe you can try something different in your sex life, or make more time for dates. Whatever you focus should be on during the upcoming year it should focus on making the two of you a better couple. Your resolution might be to take that trip the two of you have been wanting to take forever. If that is the case don't waste time start a savings plan for it today on New Years Day. Get outside the box and pick things that might not be your usual focus like making a resolution to take a cooking class together this year or maybe even a class on tantric sex. There are lots of things out there the two of you can look into but make a plan today New Years Day only happens once a year so make the most of it for the two of you.

Sexual Journal

I believe something every couple should do is keep track of their sexual activity. I hear what you are saying that it will take away from the spontaneity of your sex life, if we jump up every time we have sex and mark the calendar. I see the positive of it however. If both of you keep one you can record things you like or things your partner liked each time you were intimate. You can also keep track of what positions you used and what type of sexual acts you performed on each other, so that you can mix it up the next time. People who do this and keep a accurate account of their sexual activity will be more apt to have more sex. They will look at the calendar and say "Wow I didn't know it's been 4 days since we made love" It also helps keep it in your mind and maybe will help you organize your sexual ideas and motives. You can purchase a little calendar at the local discount store, your put it on your computer, even the applications for the iPhone and iPod touch have an intimacy counter.

Get in touch with all your sexual activities by keeping track of them. You might be amazed at how it will improve the frequency of sex for you and your partner. Both partners need to do this to make it truly work properly and you must enter every time you have sexual activities, yes even when you masturbate.
