Start a Change Jar!

As a couple it is hard sometimes to fit things into your budget. Especially those things that are not necessities of life. This is why you need to start a change jar. Simply find a jar that can hold lots of coins and start chucking all your loose change into the jar. Here is the important part, stay out of the jar. Don't get into it for change for the vending machine or for other little things that would deplete your new funds. This money is to be used for frivolous things. Things such as vacations, or date night for the two of you. The moment you give in and start extracting money your special times will go right out the door with it. Plus no one counts on the change that accumulates in your pockets so it seems like free and clear money. This way you won't be feeling guilty about taking that vacation or going to that fancy restaurant on only your change. Make sure you get a big enough jar to hold all the fund and set up a savings account to hold it if your jar gets to full. You have to be tough and refuse to dip into the jar but with a little self discipline you shouldn't have to much trouble and when you are on the beach somewhere you will be glad you didn't get into it.

Just drop it all and go to dinner

Have you ever had a day when the kids are driving you nuts your stuck in the house and you are ready to just loose it? I am sure most of us have had those days. It's not like we don't love our kids or that the stress of life is really that different then any other day. It's just a break down in strength. When this happens you need to fall back on your relationship to pick you up. This is important to get you a babysitter for the evening and go to dinner with your favorite adult, your partner. Go to a place where the two of you can have adult conversation and make sure it never enters into what is going on at home. Talk about politics, investments, movies, or anything else that grown ups talk about. This is specially needed for the man/woman that stays at home and takes care of the children and the house. That is a stressful job in it's self and sometimes you need a few hours off to recharge your batteries. Plan these escapes regularly and you might just see an improvement in the whole cycle. Honor those that take care of the important things at home they are truly a blessing.

Theme Songs

Most couples have their song! You know the one you first danced to or the one playing when you first met. These songs are wonderful memories and remind you of that special time when ever you hear them. However that isn't what this post is about. I want you to start picking out theme songs for your everyday life. The two of you sit down together and pick out songs for certain things you have to get done. For instance, make a playlist of upbeat songs for when the two of you are cleaning house. You know the songs that get you moving so that you are dancing while you are cleaning. You can even have dinner music to play lightly in the back ground during supper time. Don't forget sensual music to play when you are well for lack of a better phrase, getting it on. Music has such a powerful way of affecting our life that we need to use it to our advantage more often. Sit down tonight and the two of you hash out some playlist for your life and you might just find yourselves dancing together more often.

Dinner routines are great but every once in a while break from the norm.

Having dinner at the table with great conversation is a wonderful thing. It can bring us closer and set a time for sharing. However, every once in a while you need to break from the ridged time and make it a party. Yes, make your dinner a party. Weather you order a pizza and eat it sitting on the living room floor or eat standing up in the kitchen. This variety every once in a while can help to explore different things. Maybe it is a new chinese dish that you want to eat while sitting on the floor to get the feel for the way the chinese eat. Make dinner like a family gathering and sit all the food on the table and let you family wander around while eating. You can even make it dinner and a movie where you combine eating dinner with watching a new release movie. Whatever you choice might be just break away from the normal every once in a while at dinner and see what it might spark.

Why send cards on only Christmas?

I can't believe that Hallmark and the other card companies haven't started pushing Thank You cards to be send on Thanksgiving. Why not I think that it would be just as important as Christmas cards. A simple thank you card with a list of the helpful things someone has done for you would be a great thing to receive on this holiday of family and friends. Take on this task as a couple and put both of your minds into writing thankful words to the people that are important in your lives. What a site the two of you will make when you come into your family thanksgiving dinner and hand out cards to everyone, this is such a break from tradition that it might just become a tradition. Be Thankful today, and enjoy all the important people in your life, they will be glad you did and so will you.

Make a fun Halloween Dinner!

We all know that candle light dinners are a staple for the romantic. Since it is Halloween why not make a spooky dinner for you partner (and kids if you have them) Get some old spooky looking table settings and then purchase some fake spider webs to dress up the table. Then pick out some crazy and spooky recipes from this link
Halloween Dinner Ideas
Then create your meal and invite your partner to a halloween dinner if they dare. Top off the night by
Playing silly Halloween music like the song "The Monster Mash" Later you can slip into a costume
that might not be so child oriented, if you know what I mean. (wink wink)

Moving with your Love!

Much like remodeling, moving together is hard on a relationship. Deciding what to throw away and what to keep, adds challenge to any relationship. From the packing at the old place to the unloading at the new place, you have a lot of places to get steamed at each other. The move needs to be a team effort and what better team then the two of you. I suggest setting goals for the couple of you. Things like a nice dinner out after you get so far and I also suggest making love as soon as you get the bed into the house. Make sure to at least wait until others that are helping you are gone. Lots of massages for soar muscles will be in order, as well as lots of alone time for the two of you. Since most of your friends will disappear as soon as you start to move. Moving isn't all bad, the satisfaction you will get is amazing for your coupledom. Patience and love are the two ingredients you will need to make this a success.

Recreating Dates

Do you have a special date that you still remember - one that stands out from most of the rest of your dates? Well, I think it is time to recreate that date. Sit down and write all the things you can remember about that special date. It might be the date your partner asked you to marry him/her or your first date. It doesn't matter. Try to remember the little things such as what songs did you hear, who did you see, were there any other people with you. Obviously, the big ones will be where did you go or at what restaurant did you eat. Sit down with all your information and start to put the events in order to the best of your recollection. You might have some challenges. It may be that the place you went for dinner is now out of business or the bar you went to is now a Starbucks. If some of these changes make it impossible to recreate the exact date, then use a substitute. If the dinner was at a pizza joint that is no longer around, just substitute another pizza place. You might want to scope out some places to find the one that most reminds you of the one from the past.

Once you have all of your pieces together and places picked out it's time to ask your special someone out. Ask him/her if he/she remembers the date where you two did this and that. If he/she doesn't, don’t worry. Just tell him/her it is a date you remember, and hopefully, it will jog his/her memory once it begins. On the night of your date actually pick him/her up. You get ready first and then go drive around or something until the correct time to pick him/her up. It sounds kind of corny, but do you remember the butterflies in your stomach standing on the porch knocking on the door. Once he/she answers the door you are now back in time and on that date all over again. Enjoy it for the second time.

I know some couples that have been doing this for a long time. One that I know goes to the same restaurant, where he purposed to her, on their anniversary every year. I also know a couple that met at a concert, and whenever that band is anywhere in the area they make sure to go see them (It's great that they let some of the bands out of the old folks home long enough to put on a show or two). I have also heard of people going to sporting events to recreate dates, parks, doing the same vacations, the list goes on and on. I actually have some friends that go to the same hotel every year and even get the same room, they book it a year in advance before they check out.

This might all sound silly to some of you, but remembering your past good feelings never hurts a relationship, and this is a great way to rekindle anything you might have lost since that special date.
