Theme Songs

Most couples have their song! You know the one you first danced to or the one playing when you first met. These songs are wonderful memories and remind you of that special time when ever you hear them. However that isn't what this post is about. I want you to start picking out theme songs for your everyday life. The two of you sit down together and pick out songs for certain things you have to get done. For instance, make a playlist of upbeat songs for when the two of you are cleaning house. You know the songs that get you moving so that you are dancing while you are cleaning. You can even have dinner music to play lightly in the back ground during supper time. Don't forget sensual music to play when you are well for lack of a better phrase, getting it on. Music has such a powerful way of affecting our life that we need to use it to our advantage more often. Sit down tonight and the two of you hash out some playlist for your life and you might just find yourselves dancing together more often.

Mood Music

We can tell a lot about the way our partner is feeling by the type of music they are listening to. It takes a little study but you will start to learn how they react to certain types of music. Is the music up tempo or slow and methodical? Is what they are listening to making them get up and dance or are they just sitting listening to the words of the song. Maybe they are listening to the blues because they are sad or down in the dumps, or they could just like the blues. You need to start cataloging what type of music they are listening to and their emotions. For instance if every time they are listening to some funky disco music they seem to be dancing around having a good time, then make a note of it. However if they are sitting listening to some country song, drinking beer and in a down in the dumps mood, make a note of it. Go as far as to write down specific songs and seem to get them pumped up or feeling good. Then the next time they are having a bad day, slip on one of those songs that made them feel good at a different time and see if it improves their mood. This is one of those simple little things you do for the person you love, get to know them and how the music effects them. They may not make the connection but you will know the real reason you put that song on for them is because you love them.

Pick out Your Song!

Everyone and every couple needs a theme song. So today pick out a song that they two of you will consider your song. It can be one from when you were dating or one you just heard today and you both enjoy. Find one that has lyrics that seem to fit your relationship or has some special meaning for the two of you. That's it now you have "YOUR" song. Now every time you hear it you will think of each other. Make sure you purchase your song on itunes or any other form of media so that you have it whenever the two of you are alone and wanting to be romantic. Don't be ashamed to tell people it's your song either, and tell them why it is important to you. Unless of coarse it might be Nine Inch Nails version of "I want to F*** you like an animal" then it might be kinda obvious.

Duet!

Have the two of you ever sang together? Maybe during karaoke or at home in the shower. It is a great way to burn off some steam and get a little closer. I am not talking about a serious song that you would want to record. Unless both of you are that good then by all means, go for it. But for most of us that only sound good to ourselves it can be quite fun. Put on some songs you both know and belt out the tunes. Remember our earlier post on making a play list for driving. Get those songs out and both of you pretend you are the famous singer that made those songs popular. Pass the pretend microphone back and froth or sing at the same time. Be silly, dance, and laugh. These are not only three great things for your health, they are great for your relationship, also. Do your best Mick Jagger, strut or Tina Turner's leg kicks, you might be surprised at how good the other one is. If you not any good at least only the two of you know it.

Name that Tune? (Click here to download iTunes for Help on this topic)

Here's is a great game to play with you partner. The classic name that tune. I have several ways to play. I got the idea from my sister who everyday post song lyrics on her facebook profile and asks friend to name that tune. This is a great game between the two of you however. If you are apart during the day, text song lyrics to your partner, then see how long it takes them to figure out the song. When they get the song right they get to text you song lyrics back and you have to guess. See if you can stump them or if they will stump you. You can also do this by recording a song on their voice mail, while they are at work and have them check it on lunch.

If you happen to be a home together with nothing to do. This just get on itunes and take turns picking songs for the other to guess. Make the person guessing turn away from the computer screen and then you search for you song. Click on it for a sample and have them try to name that tune. I have put a link for itunes in the title message of this post. So what are you waiting for I can name that song in 5 notes can you do better.

Music Time - and time to get out of the soneage(Click here to download itunes)

I hope if your reading my blog here that you are pretty well versed with today's technology. Obviously you have a computer and I hope you have an ipod or another portable music device. If not go out to the store and get one today! My post today if about getting some great music for the two of you to listen to together and with an ipod it is so much more easy to do that then ever.

Let me start with asking you how many times do you get in the car for a trip and you have to decide who's music your going to listen to as you drive. We usually make it so the driver gets to choose the music. Well I want to suggest the two of you getting together to find songs that you both enjoy listening to. With the ipod it's very simple to download songs and you can even created different play list so that when you are not together you can listen to that music that only you like. So we are going to make the play list that you both like. You have to sit down together at the computer and pick an era or music style you both enjoy. iTunes will have an essentials list of the music from that ear or style. Next you and your sweety just go down the list and pick the songs you both love. Nix any that one of the partners doesn't like. This in itself can be fun seeing if you remember the songs and can name the artists. Now the next time you both get in the car to travel won't it be nice when you both can sing to the same song and enjoy it. It will make your trip so much better.
One word of caution ipods are addictive, so if possible you might want to get two or I might have to do a post on how not to fight over the ipod.
