Get the Video Camera Out...It Is Past Time!

One from the archives!

Photo from Creative Commons.
You know the one thing that seems to be missing from most relationships is video of the two of your together.  Usually one or the other of you is filming and the other one is in the video.  I think you should make it a point to set up the camera at least 4 or 5 times a year and film the two of you together.  You don't have to make a full length production of it - just film the two of you doing something together so that you have it to look back upon and remember how much your love has grown.  Plus it is fun to see at later dates how in love you were back then because it might just start a spark today.

Practice your kissing.

Remember when you were dating and you could kiss for hours on end. Using all the kissing techniques within your ability to impress your partner. It is time we take a little time and practice those techniques again. Set up a make out session for the two of you. You could rent a movie and kiss off and on through out the movie. You can also use it as great foreplay for your next sexual experience. Take time and enjoy the kissing like you did when you both were younger. You might just find yourself getting the euphoric state that you did the first few times they two of you kissed. Kissing is so good for you and your relationship that I think they are going to start bottling it.

Collage of Pictures

You can never have enough pictures up in your house. These pictures should be of you and your partner (and kids if you have them) enjoying yourselves. I like to make collages, which are various pictures put together in either a single picture frame or a series of frames connected together. By putting this collage of fun pictures up you serve constant reminders of how much fun you have had in the past and it gives you that urning to have that fun again. Get everyone in your household involve in picking out their favorite pictures to include. Then spend a rainy day creating a piece of artwork that both inspires and makes your remember great time.

Change pictures often.

Here is a great way to keep things fresh in your mind and your relationship. Get a few picture frames and set them around the house in specific areas, where they will be viewed often. Then place just a regular picture of in them. Now comes the fun part pick and time frame, be it a month or a week. Then when that time frame is up go around to all the pictures and change them. Put a different picture in each and every frame. The change of scenery if you will, can make you and your partner do a double take. Once you get this in place your partner will soon be watching closely as it near for the time for the picture change. If this might be to much for you to remember every so often, then get one of those digital picture frames. Then load up a memory card with lots of pictures and put that card in the frame. Then all you have to do is go over and switch the picture being shown on the frame. You can set the digital frame to rotate however if you do this then make sure to load some different pictures onto the frame from time to time. Then you can sit back and enjoy the pictures and the memories of things like vacations, your wedding, birthdays, or just times of relaxation.

Being intimate is not a bargaining tool.

One thing every person knows is that intimacy and sex is important in a relationship. However, so many couples use it as a bargaining tool. Both sides are to blame. Remember when you started dating and the passion and intimacy just happened. Some how when we become life partners we forget about that. We let things like work, kids, and countless other things get in the way of the freedom we had in our intimacy. Yet we do nothing about it. We hear things like "Well if you helped more around the house, I might be in the mood more" or "Well if you didn't let yourself go, I would be more attracted to you again" These things hurt and are most definitely not good for a relationship. Never should you put a tag on your love life, that should be a mutual exchange of the love between the two of you, not just a chore. You can't force sex and you can't ignore sex, it has to be in a relationship to make both partners happy. The passion has to come back and you have to compromise or you just end up becoming roommates. Use this exercise to help you get over you stipulations on sex, think about the wonderful things your partner does, think about the wonderful times you have had together, and relive all those feelings. Do you want to create more of them? Well think back what was going on in your life when they happened, most likely there was a lot of passion between the two of you????? Are you getting the picture make it a point to woe each other again, get excited about having a date together, kiss when you come home from work, these little things will start to manifest your desire for each other and soon you won't have to worry about it the passion will take care of itself.

Being a couple rocks!

I am sure you have all been jealous a time or two of a single friend that is going out all the time and doesn't seem to have a care in the world. However think of it this way what is that single friend going out looking for? It is what you have, they are looking for a partner someone to share their life with. Sure there are some people out there that want to stay single forever. The benefits to being in a relationship far out way the single lifestyle. For starters who cares about you if your single? Who helps you when your down, who makes you feel better when your sick, and who builds memories with you. Most people that are single are going out looking for someone to score with, and you have that person at home with you. Not only do people in relationships have more sex the quality of the sex is much much better. It is easier to experiment a little with someone you are sharing your life with then someone you just picked up in a bar and don't even know their last name. Yes being in a relationship does have some drawbacks but the benefits far out way the negative things. Relationships are like a garden and they grow with time, when your single you are not growing you are just wishing to stay the same. Celebrate your relationship for the wonderful thing it is.

Be My Valentine

Want to do something sweet and adorable for Valentine's Day? Think back to when you were very little and some of your very first Valentine's Days. Did you ever send the not to the young boy/girl that said, "Will you be my Valentine?" then finished it with "Circle YES or NO" then you had your friend give it to the person you thought was cute and waited to get the note back. Well do that again only this time give it to your spouse, lover, partner, mate who ever is in your life that you care about deeply. Sure it may be a little silly but what is life without laughter and fun. If your lucky you might get it back with a big circle around the YES. Have a great Valentine's Day and enjoy the love in your life.

Document major achievements in your relationship.

We all make sure to document times like anniversaries and birthdays but do you remember in important times in your relationship? The first date, the first kiss, your first vacation together, the list can go on and on but do we really document these things? Well you could really surprise your mate by making a big deal over any of them. For instance my partner and I attended a movie on our first date and on our first year anniversary I had the ticket stubs framed for us to put on our wall. Now that may seem like a lame gift but it had such sentimental value that really you couldn't put a price on it. Later on in our relationship I gave her a note that she passed to me on one of our dates, she was shocked and amazed that I had kept that note. In return she has impressed me with her documenting things in our relationship. She could tell me the exact clothes I was wearing on our first date, and the song that was playing the first time we kissed. If you haven't yet start a journal of all these wonderful memories and firsts, then when ever you want to create a sentimental memory all you have to do is look back in the journal to find them. D0n't be afraid to do this if you have been in your relationship for a long time, the things you do today might be important in another ten years. So don't delay start your memory journal today.

The Best Present Under The Tree!

We have all thought about making love under that Christmas Tree at some point and time in our lives. My question to you is "What are you waiting on?" This would be a great Christmas memory to relive over and over with your partner. Think about it you have flashing lights, wonderful views and ornaments to be burned into your memory of this wonderful event. Set up a little pallet under the tree and get busy. Take precautions such as making sure the children are asleep, or that you can't see the tree from your front door or windows, and don't do it on a night you are expecting company. No one whats to explain why a pair of panties are hanging from a branch of your Christmas tree. Pull out some Christmas carols and make it a yearly event for the two of you. This is a great way for you to get out of the bedroom with your passion, just don't squish any breakable presents in you frolicking.

Make a date out of picking out your own Christmas Tree

A great thing to do spending the day together is going out and picking out your own Christmas tree. Make sure you get to cut it down yourself, load it up on your car and take it home to decorate. The two of you (and kids if you have them) will have a great time tromping through the woods or Tree farm to find just the right tree to fit in your house. Don’t just pick the first one that looks good spend some time thinking about it plus this gives you wonder time to duck behind a tree for a quick kiss or two. Once you find the perfect tree cut it down and load it up on your car. Now you have more fun ahead as you get it home and start decorating it. Make it an event make some hot chocolate or maybe even a couple of drinks or a bottle of wine to enhance the event. Once you finally get done you will have the satisfaction of sitting down and watching the lights blink all over this wonderful symbol of not only Christmas but of your love and team work.

Get Away - Stay Away ??

Next time the two of you get away try to find somewhere to off the beaten path. Find a small town within a short drive of your final destination. Stay away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger cities. Give yourselves time to reconnect and find entertainment in each other. Take walks, talk and get to know each other all over again. If you stay in a tourist trap, you are constantly thinking what you should be doing instead of enjoying the wonderful person you are with. Find a quiet little bed and breakfast and enjoy the big comfy beds or maybe a little cottage near the ocean. You can always make the trip into the city for dinner or other entertainment. You might be amazed at the things you can find to do in a small town. Find the local sites to see or maybe enjoy a festival the town is having. Maybe you would stumble across a town that has a minor league baseball team. Then you could spend the night with your arms around each other relaxed in a half filled stadium. I do believe that if you try this, you will take away more memories then if you stay in the heart of the city.

Time to get your pictures organized.

Okay you are now a couple no matter how long you have been a couple you need to start putting your memories in order. By memories I mean pictures. If you have not purchased or own a camera do it today and start caring it with you no matter where you go. Take pictures when one of your sings karaoke, when you go on vacation, or at family functions or holidays. Then you need to find a good storage system for these pictures that allows you easy access to them at anytime. Today with digital pictures you can even store them on a form of media as long as you keep it safe. It may seem like a pain in the butt to organize the pictures after each event but believe me you will be glad you did ten years down the road. If you don't you will be finding pictures and wondering when and where they were taken. If nothing else at least but a date on them and a brief description of what was happening. Sometimes our memories will pull up all the details form the past but sometimes we need a little refresher. Document the special and not so special times of your relationship, it will be worth it when you can bore your grandchildren by showing them every step of your life.

Pick out Your Song!

Everyone and every couple needs a theme song. So today pick out a song that they two of you will consider your song. It can be one from when you were dating or one you just heard today and you both enjoy. Find one that has lyrics that seem to fit your relationship or has some special meaning for the two of you. That's it now you have "YOUR" song. Now every time you hear it you will think of each other. Make sure you purchase your song on itunes or any other form of media so that you have it whenever the two of you are alone and wanting to be romantic. Don't be ashamed to tell people it's your song either, and tell them why it is important to you. Unless of coarse it might be Nine Inch Nails version of "I want to F*** you like an animal" then it might be kinda obvious.
