Together overcome!

It is a fact of life that at some points and time some depression will hit your life. This is when it is great to be in a loving and caring relationship. Nothing knocks depression for a loop like someone telling you how much they love you and how great you are. That person is and should be your partner. They are the support that is always there they are the rock that doesn't waiver. Sometimes you are that partner and sometimes you need that partner. Love is a wonderful tool in so many ways yet people don't know how to use it to the best of it's ability in most cases. Love is not physical, it is not emotional, and it is not spiritual, it is all these things rolled together. When you understand this you will see that love is the greatest gift we can give or receive. Think of that the next time you partner has a bad day and instead of hiding in another area of the house offer up some physical, emotional and spiritual words to break that frown into a smile.

Pass something back and forth.

Sometimes we need a little something that shows the care our partner has for us. We need this physical thing to touch and enjoy while they are not around. My partner and I have a wonderful little heart shaped rock that we pass back and forth depending on who needs the most love. When I have a big day ahead with lots of things coming at me my partner will make sure I slip our heart rock into my pocket before leaving. On a day when my partner is having a lot of stress or things are bothering her I slip our heart rock into her hand. This simple little gesture makes things so much more right in the world. Holding or touching that heart rock lets both of us know that the other one is with is in our hearts as we are challenged by the day. Yours doesn't have to be a rock it can be anything. A special coin, a trinket from a trip, or a special token the point is that this item carries the love you have for each other and is a reminder of that. You can't be with your partner when they have troubles outside you house all the time but with your own heart rock you love will surround them.

Don't forget about the person giving support!

Sometimes in trying times we tend to forget about that person that is the rock or gives support. We just assume that because they are there for everyone that thing are not bothering them. In this we tend to not worry about or let them get their feelings out. The worst thing you can do in your relationship is forget about your rock. When tough times hit hard and they are there to pick you up and lift your spirits, make sure to return the favor. When you feel like that partner has went above and beyond in a way that makes you feel better you need to make sure they know you appreciate it. They might just be hiding their feelings to protect or help you out. Make sure not to just assume that they are okay. Chances are they might just need you as much as you need them.

What to do when things are going bad!

Never discuss problems in the bedroom, they should never enter your thoughts when you in this area that is designated for love.

What do you do as a couple when things are going bad in your life. These things can make it tense in your relationship and can even cause problems, which is the last things the two of you need. When things get tough the one thing you need to do as a couple is pull together. Make your relationship the rock in your rocky world right now. No matter what is going on in your life, being able to come home and be comforted and able to leave all the stress at the door is a big plus. No matter if it's problems at work, troubles with your parents, or even financial troubles. Make it a point to talk about them outside of the house and leave them their when you come back in through the door. Go out to eat and discuss your troubles over a meal,or go to the park and find a bench somewhere, or you can even just take a drive to discuss the situation. No matter what it is get it all out and talk about it before you come back home. Once home put your focus into being the couple that you are, support each other and make sure to layer on the love and affection for each other. Make your home the safe haven it should be for the two of you.

Being a couple rocks!

I am sure you have all been jealous a time or two of a single friend that is going out all the time and doesn't seem to have a care in the world. However think of it this way what is that single friend going out looking for? It is what you have, they are looking for a partner someone to share their life with. Sure there are some people out there that want to stay single forever. The benefits to being in a relationship far out way the single lifestyle. For starters who cares about you if your single? Who helps you when your down, who makes you feel better when your sick, and who builds memories with you. Most people that are single are going out looking for someone to score with, and you have that person at home with you. Not only do people in relationships have more sex the quality of the sex is much much better. It is easier to experiment a little with someone you are sharing your life with then someone you just picked up in a bar and don't even know their last name. Yes being in a relationship does have some drawbacks but the benefits far out way the negative things. Relationships are like a garden and they grow with time, when your single you are not growing you are just wishing to stay the same. Celebrate your relationship for the wonderful thing it is.

Be prepared as a couple.

Recently our furnace when out, during the middle of winter. Upon finding out from our local heating and cooling specialist that we needed to purchase a new furnace, we also were told that they couldn't put said furnace in for three days. This threw our whole relationship on tilt as we had to figure out how to live in just a couple of rooms in our house with only the heat of space heaters. Being the couple that we are we found all the blankets in the house and our warmest clothes to put on and sit about to snuggle the weekend away. It sounded like a great idea and we both figured that if nothing else we might find time to have a little fun under the blankets. To our dismay the temperature dropped to the lowest point in had been all year and instead of using the friction of our naked bodies to keep us hot, instead we found us in flannel sheets with pajamas on snuggling to stay warm. Neither of us even considered taking our clothes off for even a short time, so there was going to be no intimacy during this time, or was there? Turns out the snuggling without the thought of sex send us back to a simpler time and we talked and snuggled as much as we could. We watched some great movies and ate or dinner with blankets wrapped around us. We all make fun of the snuggies but believe you, I would have loved to had one at this time. We spent a wonderful three days together saying warm and reconnecting with the use of conversation and snuggling. Don't get me wrong as soon as the heat was back on we both were ready to pounce on each other. However, it was nice to go back to a simpler time when all you needed was your partner to get through any situation. The rock that is called a relationship is sometimes way more powerful then we think. In closing make sure your relationship can handle all these bumps in the road, because they will come when you least expect it and their is no one better to ride out these situations with then your partner.

Throw your troubles in the lake!

Sometimes in our everyday life we get bogged down with our troubles. We focus on them and let them consume us. Well today I want the two of you to go out to the local lake, stream, or ocean and toss those troubles into the water. Sound like I have lost my marbles?????? Seriously what I want you to do is go out and get some sharpie makers and head to your local body of water. Upon arriving, search the bank or shore of several good sized rocks. Now both of you sit down and write on the rocks you troubles or concerns, that are bothering you currently. Once you have completed that, gather up all the stones and read what is written on the rock and then toss it as far as you can into the water! There your trouble is gone, and you should be feeling better. No this is not a magical event it is just letting your mind let go of these problems for a bit and by doing that you might get a more clear idea of how to get rid of your problems. After all this before you get ready to leave gather up some more rocks and write things on them that you are thankful for. Take these home with you and put them in a safe place. Then the next time you are feeling down pull them out and share them with your partner. I am sure it will bring a smile to your face.
