Being His/Her Rock

Have you ever felt lost and adrift?

Ever needed someone or something to cling to to survive?

Is your lover a rock for you?
Standing there strong and secure as the waves crash down around him/her.

Remember to be grateful for him/her!
Remember to be a rock for your sweetheart, too!

We all have times when we need one another.

*The rock in this photo reminds me of the spot where Rob proposed to me 12 years ago!

Don't forget about the person giving support!

Sometimes in trying times we tend to forget about that person that is the rock or gives support. We just assume that because they are there for everyone that thing are not bothering them. In this we tend to not worry about or let them get their feelings out. The worst thing you can do in your relationship is forget about your rock. When tough times hit hard and they are there to pick you up and lift your spirits, make sure to return the favor. When you feel like that partner has went above and beyond in a way that makes you feel better you need to make sure they know you appreciate it. They might just be hiding their feelings to protect or help you out. Make sure not to just assume that they are okay. Chances are they might just need you as much as you need them.

Pump energy into everything you do together.

One of the best features of being in a relationship is that you always have support. There is always that special person their to pump you up. No matter what you are doing together it should feel like a date. Going to the grocery store, racking leaves, or cooking super should be a chance to enjoy each others company as well as getting chores done. There is a special bond between the two of you and it should create an amazing energy that you both get to enjoy. I know you know a couple that always seem to have fun together. Why not be that couple. The one person that you can count on and love can also be one of your best friends if not your best friend. Using your relationship to energize yourself is a wonderful way to keep that special bond between your partner and you. I know when I am away from my partner it is always a rush when I get to see them again. Use your partner as a spark plug and your relationship will stay vibrant for a long long time.

Find other couples friends.

We all come into a relationship with our friends and like them or not it is part of being in a relationship to deal with them. The best thing that can happen is they get in a relationship, also. Then you can do things together as a couple and maybe just maybe the other partners will get along or become closer. As your relationship gets longer and times change you need to look for friends that are couples. Ones that are dedicated to being a couple and have a strong relationship. The people can help your relationship out greatly. For starters you can do couples things with them like going out or just hanging out talking. You will have similar interests especially if both couples have children. A good place to look for these couples is at your child's school having kids the same age is a big plus. You can even form a co-op with them and take turns watching the children so the other couple can have a date and not have to spring for a babysitter. Couples can offer support to each other to get through hard times. The bigger your ring of couples the better because you might have certain couples you enjoy going to shows with and others that you can experience the outdoors with. Open your relationship up to other couples and build a foundation of great friends it can make your relationship so much stronger.

Self Help for couples.

If you like most people you have read several self help books in your life time. No matter if you wanted to increase your memory, get in better shape, or improve areas that you lack a little in. Well why not take a self help book and work on it together. What better support can you have then your partner. Walking through the ins and outs of what ever area you want to improve on together will also bring you closer together. If you want to improve your finances, you can find plenty of authors that will help the two of you. You can make action plans together and take it upon yourselves to push the other partner when they lag behind. Get in shape together, learn a new language, or improve your love life. Whatever you challenge might be go ahead and dive into it together. Learning never hurt anyone so even if the subject might not interest you as much as your partner still but the effort into making it a priority. If you would like to improve the intimacy in your relationship I would suggest picking up SEXY CHALLENGES from the authors of the couples spot to start out with.

Being There

Sad or bad times are guaranteed to hit your relationship at some time or another. I am not talking about relationship troubles but the ones that come in from the outside of your relationship. How do you handle it when something happens to upset your partner or upset the both of your? How do you comfort you partner to make them feel better? There is no formula you can follow, because everyone is different. While some people need space others need comfort. You cannot judge your partner by what they need. If they need space as hard as it might be you need to give it to them. However if they need the physical comfort you should be there for them in that manner also. You need to find that specific way that you can make your partner feel good. Some people might want to get away and take a trip, while others might want to just hunker down a home. What ever you find that works just make sure you are there as a means of support. This is one of the greatest gifts you can give to your partner and your relationship.

Sexual tip - Simple change your angle

Want to find something that is simple to try in bed with your partner tonight. However, you don't want to scare them by introducing something they might not be ready for. Well by simply changing your angle of thrusting you can change and give different feeling to sex. This goes for both men and women. Women you can do this simply by turning around during sex. Ladies if you are on top then turn to face away from your partner (Reverse cowgirl) and see how much different it feels. Men for you you have to do a little more work to give your partner a different feel. One of my favorites is to thrust upwards instead of into the partner. This give a better change of hitting the g-spot during sex. Another great idea is to after you thrust and before you begin the return to lift your hips a little so the penis drags on the front of the vagina as it slips backwards. You can also circle your hips a little to try to stimulate different areas of your partner. If you have a little trouble with the different thrusting styles you can always incorporate the use of pillows. Purchase several pillows of different styles and shapes and place them areas such as under the back or butt. Maybe put them so that they elevate the legs or support areas that might be a little painful for your partner. Just make sure to get pillows that are washable as they might get a little soiled. Have a great day and a great night of sex.

Encourage each other.

When you are in a relationship you have to become each others support for the relationship to thrive. We all have fears and are timid about tyring something new, looking for a new job, or even learning. Deep down inside our minds we know the thing we are striving for is a step in the right direction. We still are timid about getting out of our comfort zone, so we start popping ideas into our head things like "What if this doesn't work?" or "How could I possibly have time to take that class?" We put these fears in our mind as a defense to help us stay in the position that we are that our mind feels is comfortable. This is where our partner can be such a big help. The are not our mind and they will view the idea as what it is worth. Sure they might have some doubts but when we address them most often we see that they are the same fears we have.

This help to put things in perspective and with your partners support, it gives you all the more reason to pursue the thing you are looking to accomplish. When we become a couple we do more sharing then you realize. Sharing our fears and dreams are part of a relationship. Yes, you can both have dreams that are not the same but with extra support from a loving partner it makes it so much easier to go for it. Another great benefit is that if your partner and you are both on the same page for making a change then you get added support when you venture out to achieve your goal. You partner will understand if it puts more on their plate to do chores while you are studying or that you need a little extra time to read or go for an interview. These items not only will benefit you personally but it will benefit you both as a couple. Now, the next time your partner tells you something drastic they want to change, you need to help them figure out a way the two of you can handle this change. Then TOGETHER you can reap the benefits of this change when it happens. Sometimes you have to take some chances to get ahead, and they are scary but with the added support of your partner they don't seem quite as bad.
