Happy Light

If you live in a climate what has a cold harsh winter, the cabin fever can sit in pretty bad during these months. Not being able to be outside much or get the sun light that warms us can be a real downer for not only us but our relationship also. This is where you need to take action and fight the blues of winter. The obvious thing to do is to hop a plane and take a vacation to a warm exotic place. Somewhere that you can drink fruity drinks and make love all night. Now if your budget will not allow you to do this you need to start thinking of other things to do. First thing is whenever the sun is out make sure to open the curtains and let all the light in you can to your house. When the temperature warms up even slightly take a short walk outside to get that brisk air into your lungs. When all these things fail you then you need to start looking for a happy light. I have put the web address of a great happy light in the title of this post so all you have to do is click on the title and you will be whisked off to the happy light store. There are many other versions of this type of device that are less expensive. I personally don't get the winter blahs but the people that I have talked say the light definitely helps with these blahs. Sit in front of you light and close your eyes and feel the light reacting to your skin, feel it absorb into you and then after a few days of this your overall mood should start to come around. Granted this is no substitute for the sun but it might just help you avoid the cabin fever that usually happens around this time of year.

Be prepared as a couple.

Recently our furnace when out, during the middle of winter. Upon finding out from our local heating and cooling specialist that we needed to purchase a new furnace, we also were told that they couldn't put said furnace in for three days. This threw our whole relationship on tilt as we had to figure out how to live in just a couple of rooms in our house with only the heat of space heaters. Being the couple that we are we found all the blankets in the house and our warmest clothes to put on and sit about to snuggle the weekend away. It sounded like a great idea and we both figured that if nothing else we might find time to have a little fun under the blankets. To our dismay the temperature dropped to the lowest point in had been all year and instead of using the friction of our naked bodies to keep us hot, instead we found us in flannel sheets with pajamas on snuggling to stay warm. Neither of us even considered taking our clothes off for even a short time, so there was going to be no intimacy during this time, or was there? Turns out the snuggling without the thought of sex send us back to a simpler time and we talked and snuggled as much as we could. We watched some great movies and ate or dinner with blankets wrapped around us. We all make fun of the snuggies but believe you, I would have loved to had one at this time. We spent a wonderful three days together saying warm and reconnecting with the use of conversation and snuggling. Don't get me wrong as soon as the heat was back on we both were ready to pounce on each other. However, it was nice to go back to a simpler time when all you needed was your partner to get through any situation. The rock that is called a relationship is sometimes way more powerful then we think. In closing make sure your relationship can handle all these bumps in the road, because they will come when you least expect it and their is no one better to ride out these situations with then your partner.

Chap stick could save your relationship!

The time is here for bitter winter weather and if you are not prepared it can greatly effect your love life. As the wind whips across your lips it can make them dry and chapped. Chapped lips make for lousy kissing and without kissing passion seems to take a back seat. Have you ever heard any one say, "Oh your chapped lips are so sexy" Of coarse not it is the exact opposite. Protection is a must so you need to stock up on Chapstick and lip balm for those days when you must be out in the cold and windy conditions. Make it a point to carry a tube around with you at all times so that you don't have to search for one. With that said always keep a spare around because these little tubes of sex life saving product seem to get misplaced quite often. This post might seem a little silly right now but you will be thanking me the next time you start making out and your partner enjoys your lips, instead of complains about them.

Can't get to the Islands how about an Island Drink?

It is starting to turn cold outside and almost everyone wishes they were someplace in the tropics about now. Except maybe those people in the tropics! Most of us can't just stop everything and hop on a plane and be basking in the sun by this evening. How about bringing a little of the tropics home for you and your partner. Go out and get some ingredients to make up some great island drinks. Some suggestions might be daiquiris, pina coloda or even margaritas. If you don't know how to make the drink don't worry your local liquor store will most likely have a pre-mixed version or you can look the recipe up on the Internet. Surprise you partner and create a island setting in your home. Turn the heat up a little spread some beach blankets on the floor, heck even put on your swim suit and sunglasses. Find some island music with steel drums and maybe you could even spend the evening browsing through your last vacation photos and remembering how special your trip was. Top off the evening with a luau, cook some island food and spend the night making out on the beach (towel). This is just what you need to break the start of cold and flu season.
