Keep a couples diary

Have you ever been sitting around together and wondering what you were doing last year at this time? Maybe you are sitting here right now going I hope that you both remember this a year from now. Well why not keep a journal of what is going on in your life. Right down the happy and sad events, your feelings and where you think the future will be going and then in a year read that entry to see how you felt or see how close you are to getting to the place you wanted to a year ago. Once you get past the first year you will have entries to read each and everyday as you enter your newest thoughts and feelings. If you don't want the hassle of keeping a journal lying around then create a blog for the two of you. You don't even have to publish it keep it in a word document you can add pictures or what ever floats you boat. One of the biggest reasons for doing this is to show you how problems get solved or just go away. Sometimes we stress way to much about our troubles not realizing that they will pass in time. No matter which way you decide to keep your couples diary start it today and you will be one day closer to be able to answer that question: What were we doing a year ago?

Document major achievements in your relationship.

We all make sure to document times like anniversaries and birthdays but do you remember in important times in your relationship? The first date, the first kiss, your first vacation together, the list can go on and on but do we really document these things? Well you could really surprise your mate by making a big deal over any of them. For instance my partner and I attended a movie on our first date and on our first year anniversary I had the ticket stubs framed for us to put on our wall. Now that may seem like a lame gift but it had such sentimental value that really you couldn't put a price on it. Later on in our relationship I gave her a note that she passed to me on one of our dates, she was shocked and amazed that I had kept that note. In return she has impressed me with her documenting things in our relationship. She could tell me the exact clothes I was wearing on our first date, and the song that was playing the first time we kissed. If you haven't yet start a journal of all these wonderful memories and firsts, then when ever you want to create a sentimental memory all you have to do is look back in the journal to find them. D0n't be afraid to do this if you have been in your relationship for a long time, the things you do today might be important in another ten years. So don't delay start your memory journal today.

Treat each date like a first date.

I know once you get to be a couple your dating seems to change. If you living in the same house it seems a little weird to be getting ready for a date, while your partner is doing the same thing. To make this seem a little more exciting do this next time you are going to go out. One of you gets ready firsts, then you set a time for your date. The partner that is ready then leaves, to return at the set time. Then the other partner begins getting ready for the date. The partner that is ready can do anything they want until time to pick up their date. You could go hang out at your local pub, or go shopping anything to pass the time until your date. Then when the time come you proceed to go pick up your date. It might seem a little weird to go to the house in which you live to pick up the person you are already sleeping with. Make light of the situation and remember the first time you picked them up for a date. See if you can get those butterflies in your stomach again. Maybe purchase something new to wear that your partner has never seen you in as of yet. It is little things like this that can keep your relationship in the best shape, don't be afraid to be silly and show your partner how much they mean to you.
