Avoid the Excuse trap.

Excuses are our way out of things, they give us justifiable reasons not to do things. However some times we go to the excuse mill way to many times. Instead of stepping up we find an excuse to help us avoid the task. We can easily fall into the excuse trap and it is ever so true in a relationship. When we are dating we would use excuses to call the person we couldn't get off our minds. As our relationship progresses we use them to avoid things we don't want to deal with. Next time your partner asks you to do something, make it a point to avoid the excuses and say yes. They might ask you if you want to go out for the evening, and if they do don't recoil and think of why you don't want to. Think about the reasons to say yes. Life can pass us by pretty quickly and if you are constantly putting things off soon you will find yourself regretting all the things you made excuses for. So, take that hand in hand walk, go see that movie, take showers together, and make love into the late hours. This way when the day is done and you look back you won't be saying I wish I would have done that!!!!

Document major achievements in your relationship.

We all make sure to document times like anniversaries and birthdays but do you remember in important times in your relationship? The first date, the first kiss, your first vacation together, the list can go on and on but do we really document these things? Well you could really surprise your mate by making a big deal over any of them. For instance my partner and I attended a movie on our first date and on our first year anniversary I had the ticket stubs framed for us to put on our wall. Now that may seem like a lame gift but it had such sentimental value that really you couldn't put a price on it. Later on in our relationship I gave her a note that she passed to me on one of our dates, she was shocked and amazed that I had kept that note. In return she has impressed me with her documenting things in our relationship. She could tell me the exact clothes I was wearing on our first date, and the song that was playing the first time we kissed. If you haven't yet start a journal of all these wonderful memories and firsts, then when ever you want to create a sentimental memory all you have to do is look back in the journal to find them. D0n't be afraid to do this if you have been in your relationship for a long time, the things you do today might be important in another ten years. So don't delay start your memory journal today.

The Barter System

Sometimes we would love for our partner to do something for us but hate to ask them. You know if you have asked them massage your back a hundred times. You still want them to massage you but you feel like your taking advantage of them by asking. Well if you find yourself in this situation I suggest you use the barter system.

The barter system is a very old way people use to exchange goods and services. Farmers might need something from the local store but had no money to pay with. The farmer would then offer some of his products from his farm for the goods, things such as eggs, milk, or grain. So this is the system I want you to use.

Next time you want that massage, offer something up in return. Offer to cook them their favorite meal if they give you a 30 minute massage. Always set times or goals on the barters so that no one feels cheated. Because just saying give me a massage might mean a hour massage to you but might only mean a 15 minute one to him. Sometimes you might have to sweeten the offer to get what you want, but the nice part is you both win in this type of bartering.

Sexual favors works wonders in getting things you would like. So don't be shy ask for what you want and express what you will to give up. I am sure you will both feel great after the trade. You can extend your trades over days if need be based on the time you have available. Just make sure you always keep your end of the deal or the next time you barter you partner might balk a little.

Couples don't always fit together like puzzle pieces.

Did you think when you got into a relationship that was great everything would just fall into place. Did you think it would be like finding that last piece of puzzle that was a perfect fit. Well I am here to tell you that it doesn't work that way. Sure your life can be grand and you love your partner without a doubt. However, there are going to be things you just can't see eye to eye on. That doesn't mean you shouldn't be together it means you both have an opinion. I believe these differences are vital to a relationship. If you don't have things you disagree on in a relationship then in my opinion it becomes stale and boring. This is where we get to the fundamentals of a relationship. How do you handle these defences and still love each other. Well if the problem lies in what color paint to do the bedroom in your lucky. Things like how to raise the kids or actions you deem acceptable are very touchy. Patience and virtue are important if dealing with these disagreements. Conversation is the key and both parities need to express their opinions. Together is how you defeat these things you don't see on the same level. You might not be able to sway your partners opinion but you might be able to get them to see your position. That still might not get you on the same page but it might enlighten the subject and your view.

Relationships are constantly changing and you can look forward to that for the rest of your life!
