Birth Control for a solid relationship

In any relationship where sex is involved you will need to consider birth control unless you are wanting to have children. You might think this is an easy choice but it is as different as there are as many couples out there. Condoms are great but they don't allow you to feel the closeness. The pill is consistent but has some major hormonal effects for some women. Diaphragms, IUD's, female condoms, etc all have one draw back or another. There is not perfect solution that is 100% effective and most of them do not allow you to be spontaneous. So, you might ask what is the right choice should you get a vasectomy or your tubes tied? Well are you going to want to have kids at some point and time? If so then these are not options and again they are not 100% effective. They are a little closer but still cases have been reported where pregnancy has occurred after either of these procedures have been performed. The right answer for you depends on the two of you, which method offers the most protection while fitting into your lifestyle. Is it right for you to put the pressure on the woman to remember to take the pill all the time, or will condoms not let you feel the pleasure that both of you enjoy. Together you have to way all the options, another thing to consider is how you feel on pregnancy is it something you both might want at some point. Then maybe you can choose a lesser effective method and play a little hit or miss game. You can even switch it up a bit use condoms one time and then use a diaphragm the next time. What ever you choice it needs to be a combined choice and that will make it work the best for the both of you.

Spend alone time together.

This might sound like the silliest thing ever. However you can be alone with someone in the same room. Reading together is one of those things you can do together but be totally apart in your time. Just being in the same room will make you feel like your relationship has grown and is improving. One thing you have to do to make this successful is to keep to yourself. Be together but don't interrupt each other by asking questions or speaking to your partner. Giving them solitude while you are with them takes a lot of self control. However to spend a couple of hours together in the same room while enjoying something on your own brings you closer to understanding each other. Try this exercise for the two of you set a timer for an hour get a book and read together and when you get really good you will be able to touch your partners foot or hand and still not invade there mind space. Being able to be apart while you are together is a challenge but a great wonderful way for a couple to have their space and love you too.

Drinking and Sex

I would like to hear peoples opinions on drinking and sex. I have heard several different views on what is acceptable. Some people believe that you shouldn't have any drinks before you have sex with another person. I also know others that have to have to drink to get loosened up as they put it. In my opinion there is a large grey area here. Several things must be considered to decide. For starters are we talking one drink or getting drunk, I believe that a few drinks are not harmful to the act or to the person as they have sex. On the other hand getting total wiped out is never a good idea no matter what you are doing. Not being in control is never a good way to be. If you do find yourself in this position I hope you are with your trusting partner that will take care of you and make sure you are safe. Alcohol has been proven to have some good effects on your health, but doing it to excess does just the opposite. My stand on this debate is have a couple of drinks, beers or glasses of wine will not hurt your sex life. To much can add problems such as erection problems, not using birth control properly, and even getting yourself into situations that might be harmful to your health. Just as when you are doing anything else drink in moderation and if you have to much then just tell you partner to be the designated masturbater tonight.

Birth Control pills the good and the bad (Webmd explains if you click here)

Birth Control pills are wonderful for preventing pregnancy, however sometimes they can cause more problems then you might think. You and your partner need to be very careful when choosing birth control especially if you decide on pills. Once again they are very reliable but some of the hormones that they put into your system can cause some bad side effects. Headaches, pains, nausea, the list goes on and on. One thing that might effect your relationship is they can cause loss of libido in some women. Yes, you heard me correctly, the thing that is suppose to help you feel more comfortable about having sex could actually hinder it.

You and your partner need to monitor the effects after starting a birth control pill. Do they make you upset easier, how do you feel on a daily basis, and again how has her sex drive changed. The only problem is their is not a clear cut answer to any of this. Women love the pill as it gives them more control over their menstrual cycle and everyone reacts differently to different types of pills. So you have to make notes and see if their are any changes and might effect your relationship, when you notice some then you need to speak with your doctor. You might have to go through several different kinds to find one the works for you without having negative side effects.

You just have to do your research on the subject. Check out the Internet there are many documented cases for each type of pill as to the side effects the have caused some women. Look for similarities, but always consult your doctor on these matters. If birth control pills are effecting your relationship maybe you should look at condoms or other forms of birth control that are effective but don't change your body chemistry.

Gentlemen it is also your place to help out. Sometimes you partners needs your help in spotting these side effects. So this is a join effort and could even bring you closer together as a couple.
