Push stuff you need to do alone until later.

One thing I think can benefit any relationship is taking time to be together during the evening. Don't spend your time tinkering in the garage or reading a book in the other room. Make it a point to spend good quality time together. Do your reading or tinkering after you have spent some quality time with each other. I suggest setting time right before bed for you to do your other interest of if your like me do it after my partner has gone to bed. The downfall of many relationships is when we stop enjoying being together. Growing apart while still in the same household is more common than you think. Snuggle down in a chair to watch something, play a game, get a great conversation started anything that will get you close and talking is a relationship builder. The important thing is you are spending quality time together and take the time to listen to what is going on in his/her life outside the house. You will find that he/she is still as interesting as when you were dating and you spent all your time focused on each other.

The Temperature of romance

We all have a specific temperatures that we are comfortable with be it during the day or in the evening when we are trying to sleep. We also all have temperatures that we like to make love in or snuggle at so do a little research and find the best temperatures for you and your partner. Hit the air conditioning if you partner doesn't like sweaty sex. Keep the thermostat turned down cooler in those winter months to encourage your partner to snuggle. Turn the air conditioning down to get your partner into wearing less clothes around the house. Heck you can even turn the heat up in the winter and wear you swimsuits around. Have fun with this little adjusting of the temperature. Make it hot then when you partner complains tell them "Well maybe you should have so many clothes on!" with a raised eyebrow.

Get out in the cold, so you can warm up together later.

Even though it is winter time for most of us there are still plenty of things for couples to do outside. You can always dress up really warm and go for a exhilarating walk in the cold air. Snow skiing is another way couples can pass the time outside and there are several forms you can participate in. Your normal down hill skiing, sledding, tubing, and cross country skiing are just a few activities that can get the two of you outside, with being able to be together. Building snowmen, making snow angels or just challenge the local kids to a snowball fight. Just make sure to dress warmly and enjoy each others company. Now after you spend all this time out in the cold air, you are going to need to warm up. What better way then to snuggle up together in front of the fireplace sipping hot cocoa while you touch each other. At this time of year nothing is more romantic then enjoying a warm fire with the person you want to be closest to.

Silent Night

One of the best things about winter is snow. A romantic thing to do is watch and listen as the snow falls. Unless you are in a busy part of town it is one of the quietest sounds you can't hear. The snow falls so quiet and just watching it makes you want to curl up with the person you love. I picture a very quiet snow fall every time I hear the song Silent Night. For me it is very relaxing to watch the snow fall with it's quiet rhythm. Sitting with my love and drinking hot cocoa is the thing I want to do every time I see the snow start to fall. For those of you that live in a warmer climate I have included a video from youtube below so that you can get the feeling, too.

Get Jolly for Christmas

We are no officially in the Christmas season, and being festive can be really romantic between the two of you. First thing you need to do is pick a theme for your Christmas Tree. Pick something that appeals to both of your, be it cartoon characters, snowmen, or even your favorite football team. If you don't want to do a theme then you can pick a specific color to decorate your tree in. The most important thing is for the two of you to do it together. Building memories for a lifetime, make sure to take plenty of pictures and spend as many hours sitting together looking at your work of art during this holiday season.

If you have little ones at home you can let them help pick the theme, and obviously you want them to help with the decorations. Snuggle down with them and some hot chocolate and enjoy the wonderful season with these little wonders.

PIck a show and get into it together.

We all know that dating is important to us but have you ever set a date to watch a certain show each week? Try to find a show that you both enjoy and make a date to sit together and watch it each and every week. Any show will work from a version of CSI to house hunters on HGTV. Maybe it might be a sport for the two of you, say for instance you both a Red Sox fans then watching a game could be your forte. The idea of this is to get you in a regular routine of sitting down with each other with a common goal in mind. Not to mention this will bring you closer the more you get into the show. You might even find yourself discussing what might happen next in the show your conversing over the major issues of the show. As a couple you need to find things that you can do together as well as apart. Pick your shows and make it a date by adding snacks or drinks if you like and then snuggle down in your big chair and relax and watch together.

Spend you alone time together.

Nothing upsets me more then to see a couple spending time in separate rooms of the house. Sure their are times when you have to be in different rooms. Times like when one of you is doing the laundry and the other is cleaning the living room is understandable. Why, however to people split apart when they are reading or even taking a nap. Being in the same room might take a little getting use to but think about how really little time the two of you are together. Why not read your book sitting next to your partner while they watch their football game, or take your nap next to them while they are reading. Snuggle up to each other, I personally believe that if you touch even a little you are better connected to each other. Wouldn't it be nice to wake up next to your partner after you take a little snooze during a lazy sunday afternoon. I also believe that if your partner touches you in just a loving way that you will be more relaxed and calm. Call me crazy but I believe that a relationship is doesn't or shouldn't get old the longer it goes. If you are having trouble enjoying the company of your partner maybe you need to look at yourself first to see where your trouble lies. Your in a relationship for gosh sakes enjoy it there are many people out their wishing for what you have so don't take it for granted. Snuggle up and find the best way for the two of you to fit together.

Time to break out the Flannel?

We all know that flannel is warm and is great to snuggle it but is it sexy? Flannel sheets can add a great deal of warmth your bed, thus making it great to get under the covers with you lover. Flannel nightgowns have forever been linked to women that do not want to be touched or invaded during the night. You can however change this image of flannel, by simply changing your attitude and your partners. Men you can get some flannel boxer that feel great on your body and great when you lover puts their hands all over them. Women you might have to do a little research but you can find sexy flannel pajamas. You have to do a little work and make sure not to get them in a larger size then you need. I believe that the size is what make flannel PJ's unsexy and not the material. Most women I see wearing these type of PJ's have them large and bulky, but if they are tighter and show a little more of your curves I think just the opposite. If they bulky ones are all you have then slip a little something else on under the flannels to surprise you partner with once they get you in bed. Think of the look on their face as the unbutton your flannels only to find a sexy pair of panties and bra underneath. The pictures on this page are from She She Pajamas and you can google their name to find more sexy flannel PJ's.

Sleeping In!

I am sure you have heard about the benifits of sleep. Here is a benifit for the couple. Most days we take turns waking up. One of us gets up and heads for the shower while the other one lays in bed for a little while longer. Well Sundays are a great day to sleep in a little longer together. Now I am not saying stay in bed forever, but spend a little extra time just snuggling with each other on a sunday morning. It will do wonders for your relationship. Most days we are so rushed that we forget to connect with our partner in the morning. These lazy sunday days are great to snuggle and chat. Who knows if the moment is right maybe a little morning romp in the hay would get both your days started out fantastic.
